Bzz bzz
I slide my phone from my pocket and stop moving my feet. I gradually slow to a stop and gently bump into the wall as I read the text received.
Brendon~ yo how abt tht meet 2nite
I rolled my eyes but replied to his message.
Patrick~ sure :)
I guess it was nice to finally have a friend, even though we are so common in differences.
I liked blue, he liked red. I liked sweet things, he liked it hot and spicy. I was shy and quiet, but he didn't have a filter. I could go on, but you get the idea.
I glanced up and looked around the empty rink. I smiled a little and looked at the time on my phone; four thirty-six. I have an hour or so until "tonight", right?
I quickly skate over to one of the gates and wobble over to the announcer's booth. I grab the AUX cord and plug my phone in, flipping on the sound system and speakers. A smile still played on my face as Clocks by Coldplay filled the silent rink.
I made it safely back to the ice and took a deep breath as the lyrical part began. I started out with slow but strong glides across the length of the rink to match each line. When I reached the other side, I slid in a smooth U shape, just as the drawn out "you"s and "oh"s began. I continued with the long slides, but stood on one foot at a time, holding my arms out, changing feet every time he changed a word.
It repeated itself from there, occasionally adding a small leap or a twirl. At the second lyrical verse, I was doing the same, but skating backwards. I spun around by the wall and pushed off, holding my arms straight out by my sides. By the second "you"s and "oh"s verse, my hand was grabbed. I looked over and saw Ryan, mirroring my pose. He let go as we reached the middle of the rink and we both took twirling leaps into the air.
"When nooothing else compaarres"
It was some of the most fun I've had in ages, ice dancing with someone else. But when I looked up to see where Ryan was, I caught a glimpse of dark brown hair with bleached tips. My mind went totally blank and I lost balance, slipping and falling forward.
I tried to stick my hands out in front of me, but my face hit something hard and my vision went black. It soon began to come back, but was very fuzzy. I was lifted up under my arms as somebody dragged me off the ice.
"Oh my god is that blood?"
"Someone get paper towels!"
The music suddenly shut off.
I was sat down on a bench, but in between two things warm. Like legs. Like the person who was dragging me sat me in between their legs. I would probably be blushing like hell if I didn't feel something warm and wet running over my lips and dripping off of my chin, pain just shooting all over my face.
"Pa...ck? ey... an you ...ear me...?"
I slowly nodded and blinked, unsure of where the voice was coming from. There was suddenly something rough against my nose and I let out a stiffled scream. Pain shot through my head and I yanked back, hitting the back of my head against something. I tried to mutter an apology, but my mouth filled with a metallic liquid and I bent over, cupping my nose with both hands.
"I.... him... os..tal," my legs were gently grabbed and I felt my skates be taken off my feet. I then had an arm wrapped around my shoulders and another support my knees.
I looked up and saw a blurry faced man. I blinked and tried to focus my eyes, but blackness washed over everything.

"Why are you still here?" Aunt Jenn. "I told you to go home an hour ago!" I heard a door open. The bed beside me shifted and grew a little cold.
"Some of us Juniors and Seniors can take half days. It's fine school wise, I'm just worried about him." Oh holy smokes that voice sounds familiar. There was a moment of silence and the bed dipped down a little again. "His nose is crooked, but just a little. It's kinda cute."
Aunt Jenn lightly laughed from across the room before the door closed. Something warm softly touched my cheek. I let my eyes flutter open and they immediately caught a beautiful whiskey brown colour. It was a pair of sparkling eyes, gazing down at me. Unsure of what to do, I smiled. The action caused a fresh wave of pain to push through my nerves and made me feel nauseous. I quickly closed my eyes to stop the room from spinning, squeezing my hands into fists.
Although, my left hand just gripped whatever it was holding more. I glanced down and saw a hand in mine. I followed the arm it was connected to, and met the eyes again.
"Pete," I whispered. He smirked and removed his hand from my cheek. I tried not to show any disappointment.
"The one and only." He began rubbing his thumb over mine.
"I... wha even..." my eyes widened at my little British slur. Thought I had an accent then, oh look at me now. I soon realized we were in my bedroom at Aunt Jenn's house. "Wha...?"
He chuckled gently. "You and Ryan were ice dancing. You slipped and fell, breaking your nose."
"Oh," was all I could manage. I looked down at our hands again.
"You haven't let go since they released you from the ER. They walked you out and to the waiting room, and you fell into my arms, mumbling about..." he looked away, biting his lip.
I pushed myself up which actually required a lot more energy than it should have. "About what?" I accidentally nudged his shoulder with my forehead, causing him to look back over.
"'Don't let go Jack, never let go'," he shook his head slightly, keeping our gaze.
My face slowly heated up. "I-I... quoted... Titanic?" He nodded. I slowly pulled my blanket up over my head, slipping my hand out of his to do so.
"Stop that!" He said loudly, jumping up from the bed and ripping the covers off of me. I burst into giggles, suddenly becoming light headed and falling onto my side, head hanging over the edge of the matress.
"S-sto-op wh-wha-what?" I manage between laughs.
"Being so adorable!"
The room went silent. I sat up shakily, looking him in the eyes. I literally just met the guy. He slowly leaned forward, running fingertips over my cheek again. But I feel so... My lips parted and I pulled into him. ...warm. My eyes closed and I felt his warm breath over my lips. Our noses brushed and I let out a hiss, pulling back.
"I-I should go," he muttered and rushed out.
My eyes grow wide as I stare at the closed bedroom door, now behind him.
What.
