Wrapped in the tarpaulin was an array of rudimentary weapons. One was made from a smithies hammer, another from an old harpoon. The dwarves, to say the least, we're not impressed.
"We pain you for weapons!" Roared Gloin "Iron forged swords and axes!"
"It's a joke," said Bofur, casting down the weapon he had just picked up.
"You won't find better outside the city armoury," reasoned Bard "All iron forged weapons are held there under lock and key!"
Oh Valar, when will these dwarves see sense? I growled mentally. Balin took Thorin to one side.
"Thorin," the dwarf said "Why not take this offer and go. I've made do with less, so have you."
"I say we leave now," continued Balin, speaking to everyone this time.
"You're not going anywhere," Bard spoke out.
"What did you say?" Growled Dwalin. "There are spies watching this house and probably every dog and wolf in the town," said Bard. I let out a loud growl at the mention of wolves.
"No offence meant," said Bard quickly. He turned back to the dwarves.
"You must wait till nightfall."
Bard strode outside, clearly irritated by the dwarves. Bain, the boy, went out after a moment or so to check on his father.
"Da?" I heard the boy ask.
"Don't let them leave," Bard said before rushing off.
