The rain showed no sign of stopping at all.

Haibara sat on the bench facing the rain, but with a roof for shelter. Beside her was Conan.

She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it slowly.

Flash back

Kobayashi was at the front of the room, reading off a textbook.

She stopped when she noticed something wasn't right.

"Where's Yoshida-san,"she asked,"She was here in the morning."

Haibara looked at Conan.

"She didn't feel very well and left to her house."he explained.

"Oh ok."

"Hakase said he'll pick us up,"Conan said as he turned off his cell phone,"If you like I can stay at your house for a while."

Haibara nodded.

"I hope Ayumi's ok."

"Mew"

What the...

Ayumi slowly opened her eyes.

Two dark-blue eyes stared back at her.

"Kyaa!"

She quickly moved away from the two eyes and almost fell off the bed.

It was a cat. A white tabby cat with gray patches.

The cat still sat there, not disturbed by her reaction.

"Wait a minute. I've seen you...in the alley!" Ayumi exclaimed.

"Ivypool loves going to the alley from time to time, but she usually goes to the lake near the camping grounds, her real home."

Ayumi turned around quickly.

"Vineyard-san!? This is your home!"

Chris Vineyard, the woman who Ayumi bumped into, smiled warmly,"Yes."
