[ THE RISE: CHAPTER EIGHTEEN ]

"What can I do for you?" Rhea teased as she answered her phone— earning a chuckle from the other end.

"Come on now, love. You kiss me and now you're tossing me to the side like I'm nothing? I feel used." Kol replied, causing a blush to creep it's way into Rhea's cheek.

"Firstly, you kissed me. I was just simply returning the favour."

"As much as I'd love to hear your declarations of undying love, we have a rather dire situation at hand!" Klaus' voice was heard from the background, Rhea rolled her eyes.

"What's up?" She asked as she walked into a nearby shop, needing some supplies— she liked to keep stocked up, for whatever spell she may need to do.

"Our dear brother Finn, has locked us into the compound. The worst part is, we have two rather large groups of both vampires and werewolves." Kol informed her, she groaned.

"Finn's revenge fantasy is getting rather tedious, don't you think? I'll be there in ten minutes." Hanging up the phone, she went to leave the shop, but was stopped however, by the person in question.

"Finn."

"How lovely to see you too, Rhea."

"Is there a point to this lovely meeting or are you simply here to bore me to death?"

"You know, your brother tapping into that magic could cause him some awfully unwanted enemies." Rhea rose a brow, "The ancestors of New Orleans have a message for you and your brother, join them. Against the fight against the vampires, the wolves, and they won't cause you any trouble."

Rhea faked interest, taking a step towards Finn, she grinned, "You can tell those ancestors to mind their own business, and shove their message up their ass."

Walking into the compound, Rhea stopped short of the entrance, knowing that if she went any further— she'd be trapped.

She reached her hand out to touch the barrier, but Kol rushed out, stopping her before she could get burned.

"Careful, it's nasty." He smiled at the sight before him, he would never get over the initial feeling of seeing her— she took his breath away, every single time.

"My girl to the rescue, eh?" Rhea grinned, her eyes not leaving his once, "You ready?"

Rhea nodded, the two held out their hands on either side of the barrier— the barrier being the only thing separating their hands. They started to murmur an unintelligible incantation under their breath, all eyes on them— hoping to be freed.

After a moment, both Kol and Rhea were rebounded backwards. Rhea, looking startled, asked, "What just happened?" Kol gave her a wary look, but was interrupted by Klaus before he could reply.

"I assume that means we're all free to go." It was more of a statement than a question, typical Klaus behaviour.

Kol looked anxious, "No, the spell's locking us out."
