Dear Connor,

You're totally cool for loving Christmas, I think both the religious aspects and "worldly" aspects, as you put it, are great. Then again, how could they not be? It's Christmas, after all.

I hear you with the "I love you" thing. I had no idea what I was feeling when I was dating Kevin, but I do think that it was love. I think that it took me a long time to realize it because I was scared of giving my heart away to the wrong person, and clearly rightly so; look how it turned out. I still don't know what I did wrong or why Delaney thinks I was the one who "messed up" in the relationship, but I guess some questions are just meant to remain unanswered.

As for your love life, Ashley definitely seems to playing the victim all over social media. I've never seen something like this before; where the person who cheated is acting like they're the ones who are being hurt and abused by the other person. It is truly a strange concept to me, but I mean to each their own. Except for Ashley, she's being a jerk. She can't handle the fact that you have a girl pen pal and gets all salty with me over Facebook, which I find kind of funny; I'm used to girls not liking me, so it doesn't really faze me. Also, for the record, you are the definitely the level-headed one in the relationship (REFER TO AUTHOR'S NOTE IF CONFUSED) of us, not me. I get so worked up over the little things, it's crazy. You're the one who will have to bring me back down to earth, and you just wait because it'll happen more and more as Delaney continues to get on my nerves and Kevin continues to defend her.

Thanks for taking my side on the Facebook fiasco. I didn't mean to be rude or blow up, but I guess I was just a bit too salty with her and she couldn't handle it (you'd be surprised how often that happens to me). I'm sorry again, even though I know you said I don't need to be, but I still feel bad; I mean it wasn't fair of me, the random girl who nobody knows, to suddenly jump into the conversation and make things worse. Thanks for being so nice about it though, I appreciate it.

Where are you going for vacation? My best friend Jen, like I told you, just got back from the Bahamas and she loved it. Are you going somewhere warm to escape your "crazy Virginia weather" or somewhere colder to ski and stuff? My family usually goes to Utah to ski in January, and that's always a good time. That sucks that I won't be able to write to you as much, but I'll still be here when you get back, so hopefully my grade won't drop too much from not writing to you every other day. Just kidding! You're more than a grade to me by this point, clearly...I don't jump online and start a fight for just anyone.

      Scratch that. I kinda do.

As for your TV talk, I am certainly not bored with you. I think that the TV shows you like are fascinating, since I love them too, and I love talking about my favorite shows. Have you seen Chuck? It's on Netflix and it is so good! There are so many funny characters, but Casey is my favorite. He reminds me of myself in a way—doesn't put up with anyone's crap. You should watch it if you haven't!

And lastly, about the phone numbers, I don't think I feel comfortable sending my number through the mail—who knows who looks at this stuff. I'm sorry if that's offensive to you or anything like that, I really truly didn't mean for it to be, I just don't really feel comfortable sending that out right now. Thanks for being understanding (I hope!) and I hope you have a great time on your trip! Don't party too hard!

Sincerely,

Sydney Porter
