Your POV

"Mabel!!" You called to your cousin. The pink finned mermaid turned to you and swam to your side, outside of the water.

"Yeah?"

"Is that a human?" You pointed at a creature running around on the beach.

"I. . . Think so?" Mabel shrugged.

"Imma go check it out." You said, slowly making your way towards the beach.

"Great! I'll go get Dipper!" Mabel dove down into the depths of the ocean.

You did the same, in an effort to hide yourself. You peaked up and saw several humans playing with a ball.

You tilted your head, making a dolphin noise to catch their attention. One human with fluffy black hair noticed you.

He sprinted towards the water and waved at you. "Hi there!" He greeted.

You swam a little closer and smiled. "Hello." You waved your tail around.

"Whoa. You're a mermaid. Right?" He asked, kneeling down to your level.

"Yeah!" You exclaimed.

"I'm Steven."

"I'm Y/N."

"Hey! Steven! What are you doing!?" Another human called, running to Steven's side. "Whoa! Is that a mermaid?" She asked.

You gave another sound while nodding. "Hello there! I'm Y/N!"

"Hello! I'm Connie." The human smiled.

"How are you guys?" You asked warmly.

Steven and Connie sat down, answering your questions.

"Can you exit the water?" Steven asked.

You nodded and pushed yourself out, digging your nails into the sand.

"Not... for long though..." You whispered, struggling to pull yourself completely onto the sand.

"Hey, guys!!" Connie called to the rest of the humans. A ton of them ran over to you.

They stood around you, staring down at your pathetic figure. You really wanted to get back into the water, where you could run and fight.

A tall human with brown hair in a white shirt and grey sweat pants bent down and smiled. "Hi, my name's Wirt." He greeted.

You nodded. The humans continued to introduce themselves. Steven, Connie, Wirt, Greg, Star, Marco. They all seemed really nice.

Over in the shady part of the beach, two other people were lying down on sun chairs.

"How about them?" You sat up and pointed to the other humans.

"Oh, that's just Tom and Amethyst." Star shrugged.

The atmosphere was silent as everyone thought of a new conversation topic.

You paused and something popped into your head. Looking through them, you decided to pull Marco into the water.

You slithered back into the cold ocean and grabbed Marco's foot.

"Y/N- what are you-" You yanked him into the water, he screamed under water as you smiled in satisfaction.

He swam back up to the surface, breathing heavily. "Gah!! Why would you do that?!"

"You know how to swim, right? then put your skills to the test, race me homie!!" You exclaimed, circling him at a fast pace. "Or are you too scared?"

"Why me?!" He cried out, using his arms and legs to stay on the surface.

"Fine." You huffed, grabbing both Connie's and Wirt's legs. "Come on!! Please!! I wanna see you guys swim!!" You whined.

"Y/N!!" A voice called your name, you turned around and saw Dipper and Mabel swimming towards you.

"Dip!! Mabel!! Hey!! Over here!!" You called.

Dipper grabbed your wrist and pulled you back, "What are you doing?! Interacting with humans?!" He snapped.

Marco swam to your side and smiled awkward, "Hello there, the name's Marco."

"Dipper." He scowled.

"I'm Mabel!!"

Dipper glared at Marco, and Marco just looked back with a happy smile.

...

"DIE!!" Dipper began splashing water at the human's, you burst out laughing at their reactions. Everyone else standing on the ground fell into the water.

"Whoooo!!" You exclaimed, you grabbed Star's hand and pulled her deeper, and then pulled her underneath the water, swirling around her.

She swam back up. You followed and smiled.

"SWIM PEOPLE. SWIM!!" You yelled, splashing everyone with your tail.
