"What? What's happening?" Lewis suddenly mumbled making me jump in the chair. I stood up nearly instantly as my son awoke from his comatose state during the middle of the night.

I'd sent Clem and April home to get some sleep, Luke had left with the same scowl on his face as he walked in with although apparently whilst I was gone Lee was able to apologise to him for everything that had happened allowing them to reconnect. Lee was still with me in the room fast asleep on the chair on the opposite side of the bed. It must have been around 3am but of course I couldn't sleep with so much on my mind.

"Hey buddy, you're in the medical centre at the moment. They fixed you up." I leant on the side of the bed to try and snap him back into reality.

"Am I still bleeding?" He looked dazed and too drugged up on painkillers to co-operate.

"No, you're not bleeding anymore. They patched you up." I smiled slightly as I touched the side of his face to get a better look at him. He still had his pale face and oxygen mask strapped around his mouth.

"Am I dying? I feel like I'm dying. Can I go home now?" Lewis reached up with his right arm to try and take off some of the medical equipment but I instantly put a stop to it. I wasn't going to allow him to take off anything without a doctor's permission.

"You're not dying Lew, you're fine. You come home soon but not now. I'm just glad you're alright." I laughed slightly out of disbelief, I didn't think I'd ever speak to my son ever again.

"Where's Mom and April?"

"They're at home, Lee is over there." I pointed to the other side of him towards Lee asleep in the chair. I found it odd how Lewis didn't even mention Lee, it was as if he was an outcast of the family that nobody wanted to be involved with. It was kind of upsetting.

Lewis attempted to turn his head to see Lee in the dark room but winced in pain at the movement. Instead his eyes looked towards me.

"Can you wake him up?" Lewis asked, I shrugged before going around the bed and gently nudging my first born son.

"Lee, Lew's awake." I whispered as I shook him. Lewis decided to use another approach to try and awake the sleeping young man.

"Wake up you lazy piece of shit!" Lewis shouted as loud as he could with his raspy and dry throat taking me by surprise. Although it did make me laugh quite a bit when Lee suddenly sat up in the chair looking around the room in confusion.

"Your brother's awake." I tapped Lee on the shoulder once more to knock him back into reality.

"Lewis! Holy shit!" Lee smiled at the sudden realisation of his brother being alive. I'd never seen him smile quite like that before.

He quickly stood up more than likely to hug Lewis before realising he couldn't with the tangled wires all over his brother's body. Lewis attempted a smile under the mask before lifting his arm for Lee to touch.

"Do I look cool?" Lewis joked as Lee chuckled and grabbed his brother's hand to shake gently.

"Yeah, you look awesome. You survived two bullet wounds and you lost a shit ton of blood, you're lucky to be here. The doctors and nurses here are really good." Lee smirks as he compliments the staff.

I stepped forward and slapped Lee on the shoulder as I shook my head and looked at Lewis.

"He's only saying that because he totally wants to screw your nurse." I laughed as Lee looked towards me and scowled. Lewis just began to chuckle inside the bed more than likely causing him more pain.

"I don't want to...screw the nurse. She's nice, alright?" Lee suddenly went quiet saying something I didn't think he'd say his entire life.

My jaw dropped at the comment as Lewis sat in the bed sniggering under the mask.
