Joey was biting his pencil in the library, reading a book avidly, his eyes darting from one side of the page to the other.

A gentle knock came to the door.

"Puppy? You've been in there for a while... And you've been silent.... Which is unnatural... Are you dead?"

Receiving no answer, Seto huffed and knocked harder.

"Joey, I need to know you're okay."

Joey kept reading with occasional gasps.

Seto frowned. "Well, at least now I know you're alive. How can you be this focused? You're ADHD as shit and you know it..."

Joey whimpered and started to cry, sobbing loudly.

Seto panicked and ran to the end of the hall, ready to break down the door and started to run as fast as he could.

Joey wailed and opened the door, "Seto!"

Seto stumbled from the sudden appearance and fell over Joey, both of them tumbling to hit one of the bookshelves.

The brunet winced as he held his knee, where a particularly heavy War And Peace had fell.

He inhaled sharply from the pain, "Are you okay Joey?"

The other just started sobbing more, throwing himself over his lover.

"WHY! WHY DO THE GOOD DIE YOUNG, SETO!"

Seto blinked confusedly, "Um... because the Grim Reaper sometimes gets confused?"

Joey started hitting Seto's chest, still crying.

"He was so pure! So young! How could you make such a joke!"

"Who, puppy, who?!"

"Hedwig!"

"Uh.... Hedwig? Who is that?"

Joey sniffled. "An owl in my book who just died in a fight scene..."

Seto blinked.

"So?"

Joey looked at him with the rage of one thousand screecher owls.

Seto prayed for his life.

Ten minutes later, Seto was nursing his black eye with a pack of frozen peas, outside his bedroom door with a sign on it, with the bright red lettering 'DO NOT DISTURB'.

Seto pouted.

"It was just an owl... No need to hit me over it- NO WAIT NO JOEY I'M SORRY- OW OW STOP IT PLEASE I LOVE YOU DON'T KILL ME- AH NO I NEED THAT AND SO DO YOU, SO DON'T HURT IT"

Needless to say, Seto slept on the couch that night.
