Aria Evans

"Well are you going to have a seat Ms.Evans?"

The authority in his voice was heard loud and clear as I quietly sat down next to Zander, who still hadn't said a word.

My palms were sweaty, making me rub them against my jeans nervously, watching as Mr. Danford took a seat in front of us, hands clasped together in a sophisticated manner.

"I hear you both are in our school's new Child Development class together, in fact you both have been partnered up."

His eyes lingered on our handcuffed hands before he slowly shook his head, eyes connecting with mine as he continued.

"In more ways than one."

I cleared my throat uncomfortably, avoiding his gaze as I hid my hand behind my sweater, clear embarrassment written on my face.

"Yeah, so?"

I looked beside me as Zander chose to finally speak, his annoyed face showing that he rather be anywhere else but here.

Mr. Danford eyed him warily almost in distaste as he chose to ignore Zander's rude remark.

"Last night I was called over to the school about a weird situation. I had to leave my family to come and find out about a plastic doll that had been crying all night in some locker."

I visibly stiffened, immediately thinking about Zeke. I was such a horrible mother.

I smiled sheepishly as I dared a glance at Zander, no emotion visible on his face.

"Well do any of you have anything to say for yourselves?"

I cleared my throat, ready to confess as Mr. Danford's eyes landed on me.

"It's my fault."

My eyes widened as I coughed ferociously, eyeing Zander in astonishment.

He had taken the blame.

He eyed Mr. Danford with challenge in his eyes almost as if to say, prove me wrong.

Mr. Danford stared right back, eyebrows raised with a creepy smirk smeared on his face.

"Mr. Bue, I didn't expect you to say anything, seeing as we did have a check on who's locker it belonged to."

He then flickered his eyes towards my surprised figure, an expectant look shot at me.

"Ms. Evans in fact, it was yours."
