••Johnson's POV••

"I liked it." Gilinsky said as we walked out of the airport
"Me too." I nodded putting it back in the bag it was in
"Madison is gonna fly in later, I hope that's ok with you guys." He said
"Yeah, Alex's family is arriving later too." I said to him

"Where is the birthday girl anyways?" He teased as we got in the rent car
"She's in her room sleeping." I chuckled turning on the car
"When she knows she can sleep in." He laughed
"Lucky her." I said driving off

"You ok?" He asked raising a brow
"Yeah, I was just thinking." I mumbled making a left
"Thinking of what?" He asked
"Two years, I missed two of Alex's birthdays." I explained to him
"Jack, we both know she doesn't care about that." He said sternly

"Well she should." I mumbled under my breath. He sighed
"You love her don't you?" He asked
"Of course I do." I nodded
"If you feel so bad then make up for those two years. Make this a birthday she won't forget." He said

"I will." I nodded. I'm determined to make this Alex's best birthday. After all she deserves it. I don't know what I'd do without her. She's my whole world and she deserves nothing but happiness. I know I can't get her what she most wants. Her father. But I'll do anything to see a smile on that beautiful face of hers

"And I'm sure she's gonna love it." He assured
"I really hope so." I mumbled looking at the bag that sat next to me
"She will Jack, don't worry." He smiled. I nodded
"I just want her to be happy." I said

"And you make her happy." He assured
"Everyone who knows you guys know that." He chuckled
"You're weird." I mumbled as I pulled up the the girls apartment
"We both are." He argued

"But you're more." I raised a brow
"We both know that's not true." He chuckled and shook his head. I rolled my eyes and turned off the car before getting out
"This rent car isn't that bad." Gilinsky said getting out also
"I know." I chuckled

He grabbed his backpack from the back and locked the doors
"I have to sleep in the floor huh?" He asked as we walked in the building
"They have a little living room, you could sleep there." I suggested walking into the elevator

"With Madison." I wiggled my eyebrows teasingly
"Don't start." He groaned. We reached the third floor and got out
"They had to get an apartment on the third floor?" Gilinsky asked
"You rather one on the fifth?" I asked

"Well no." He mumbled but I didn't catch the rest as I opened the apartment door
"Oh hey." Summer said as her face was full of flour. I muffled a laugh
"What happened to your face?" Gilinsky asked closing the door behind him

"I'm making pancakes for Alex, just that it kinda back fired." She mumbled as blush ran up her cheeks
"Or we can take her out for breakfast, you're family doesn't get here till twelve." I suggested
"That's better." She nodded pointing at nothing in particular

"I'm gonna go clean up, can you wake up Alex?" She asked me
"He'd love to." Gilinsky said resting his hands in my shoulders
"Wouldn't you Jack?" He asked smirking at me
"Yeah." I said squinting my eyes at him. He shooed me away

I rolled my eyes and walked into Alex's room. A smile tugged on my lips as I saw Alex fast asleep. How can a human being be that perfect? For god's sake she's sleeping! Her hair is all over the place and her arms are under her cheek as she lays sideways. I walked over to her and kissed her cheek softly

"Princess." I whispered shaking her lightly. She hummed
"Alex." I said poking her cheek. Her facial expression changed but not once did she open her eyes
"Beautiful." I said pecking her soft lips
"Jay." She whispered tiredly
