Embarrassment

The next morning, Star woke up, not looking forward to going to school, mostly because she knew that once she entered Ms. Skullnick's class, she would want her to stand up in front of the class and say something about herself.

Once she got downstairs, she saw her mom and dad at the door, talking to someone. She pushed through them and saw Marco "M-Marco? What are you doing here?" inquired Star. 

"I came to walk you to school but your parents are kinda scaring me," replied Marco, as Mr. and Mrs. Butterfly glared at him.

Star saw her parents' stares and asked, "Will you give us a sec?" He nodded and she pushed her parents inside and questioned, "Okay, why were you staring at him like that?"

"I don't know, maybe it's because we said you weren't allowed to date yet!" retorted her mom.

Star facepalmed and said, "We're just friends mom." 

Her mom's frown suddenly faded and said, "Oh, uh, sorry, I didn't know. Okay, you can go to school now and have fun."

"Thanks, mom and I'll try, but I'm pretty sure I won't, 'cause I have to say something about myself in front of the whole class and you know I'm really shy around large numbers of people," said Star. 

"Yeah, well, you know Star, life's not all sunshine and rainbows," said Moon. 

"Yeah, I know, okay bye!" said Star, as she hugged her parents and went outside where Marco was waiting and started walking to school with him.

They walked in silence until Star said, "So, do you have any plans today because I was thinking maybe I could hang out at your house today," she asked.

"Actually, no, I don't have any plans, I'm free for the whole day today," said Marco. 

"YAY!" exclaimed Star, making Marco chuckle.

Once they got to school, they headed toward Miss Skullnick's classroom for their first hour. Star sat down and laid her head on the desk, hoping the teacher wouldn't see her or remember her, but she groaned, "Star Butterfly, will you please stand up and tell us about you now?"

"You know I don't want to do it," retorted Star.

Miss skullnick glared at her and demanded, "Every student has to do it, now get up here and give a speech about yourself."

"Okay, okay, geez," said Star as she got up in front of her classmates. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out, she was too embarrassed to say anything. She blushed and saw someone whisper to another student and another, and another. Her face was cherry red and she ran out of the classroom, with tears pouring out her eyes.

Marco looked at the teacher and asked, "May I go see if she's alright?" 

Miss Skullnick rolled her eyes and sighed, "Fine, but be back with her in five minutes."

Marco nodded and ran out.

He saw Star sitting on the floor with her hands over her eyes, crying a river. Marco walked over to her and sat down with her, and asked, "Are you ok?"

Star lifted her head up and looked at Marco. "No I'm not, I just embarrassed myself in front of all my classmates and I just wish I never came to this school." she cried, then put her head back in her arms and cried more. 

Marco felt bad for her and hugged her, trying to help her feel better. She hugged back and cried on his shoulder "Marco, I don't wanna go back in the class I just wanna go back home." Said Star.

"Well, come in with me, and if she tells you to do the speech again, I'll tell her that you can't, I mean, she has to have heard of people with stage fright, but if you want I'll stand up there with you while you give the speech if you want," comforted Marco. 

Star smiled and looked at Marco and said "I think I like the second one better." 

Marco got up, helped Star up, and then they went back in the class.
