Ashley

-

At this point in my life, I felt like I was on cloud nine. At that this point in my life, I couldn't complain. Being in a band, being able to travel the world, and most of all, I have a beautiful husband. My life could not get any better....well I was proven wrong after my and Andy's first year of marriage, Andy had become pregnant. That single sentence from the man I love: "Ashley, I'm pregnant." , had instantly made me, as cliché as it sounded, the happiest man in the world. I still remembered how in a fit of excitement and joy. The good news of being a father made that day one of the happiest in my life.

After that, the months had flown by. Andy had been slender, and now had a swollen belly. It looked cute on him. That had been nearly 9 months ago though. Now I was stuck in a waiting room while the Doctor and his team prepped Andy for his delivery that would bring our baby into the world. They had promised me that once they were about to start, they would call for me. Jake, CC, and Jinxx were there with us as well. They too were excited to see the baby.

"How is he?" I questioned as I saw  the man that walked out into the waiting room. "He's fine. Although he do wishes to see you." I followed the man in the back where I saw Andy. Pain was written all on his poor face and was taking deep breaths while sweat fell over him.

"You doing okay?" I whispered, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. Andy gave a small nod, his eyes opening slightly to show sky blue fogged eyes. "...Hurts..." The tall male whispered in a low voice.

"It'll be over soon, just a little longer." I encouraged softly, pressing a kiss on his damp forehead, his hand softly brushing back sweaty bangs from his face.

I cringed as another ripple of pain visibly passes through Andy's face, a whimper of pain slipping through his clenched jaws. I mumbled sweet nothings and encouragements into his ear as the minutes ticked on, now and then pressing a butterfly kiss on forehead and cheek, trying to comfort the crying male. "We are almost done Andy, hang on." the Doctor's voice cut through the silence of the room. "Just one more push."

Not 5 minutes later a small loud wail rang through the room. "It's a girl." the Doctor's voice called out. She was now a cleaned and wrapped bundle that has now calmed down and making those cute baby sounds. "Here you go." the Doctor's assistant said as she gently offered the small bundle to me. My fear increased as I took the small baby carefully with slightly trembling hands, and looked down for the first time at my newborn daughter.

The little child had Andy's eye's and skin tone. She always had my hair...and of course our good looks.

I was in love.

"Wait till your 'mommy' gets a look at you." I whispered softly. "You have no idea how much grief you caused your mom and me."

He glanced over at the exhausted man of the bed who had been patiently been waiting for his turn to see the newborn. "Sorry," I reply, carefully passing the child to Andy. I felt a little guilty as Andy probably was doing everything within his power to not pass out from exhaustion. "...She's beautiful..." He whispered out in a slightly choked voice, cradling the baby closer to him so that he could press a small kiss to the baby's head. "Only cause of you. You did great baby." I responded, leaning over the bed and pressed a soft kiss on Andy's lips.

"Have you two picked out a name?" the Doctor questioned, smiling happily at the new family. "Susan Biersack-Purdy..." The black haired replied softly in exhaustion, his eyes never once leaving the face of his daughter. "Alright then, I will get the paper work settled. Andy, I suggest you hand Susan to Ashley and get some rest." The Doctor advised, smiling slightly at the couple before leaving them alone with their child.

"You heard that, hand her over." I said, grinning at the slightly at the sad look Andy shot me. "No, I'm not tired." He stated. However, there was a hint of a pout forming on his face. He had never looked or sounded so childish in his life, it was funny. He rolled his eyes, "Sure you're not, so why are you're shaking so much?" my grin widening as the smaller male seemed to finally register how much pain he was in, his pout giving away too a look of wariness. "...Fine." He grumbled quietly carefully handing the baby over to me.  "Don't worry, Susan and I will be waiting for mommy to wake up, won't we?" I directed the question to the newborn who gave her parents her  first smile and a sound that sounded like a laugh in response. She had my smile. "Don't teach her to call me 'mommy'." Andy warned.

I gave a small chuckle in response, "But it's cute. Of course I'll have her call you mommy. Just sleep okay?" I mumbled as I pressed a small kiss to each of Andy's eye lids and his forehead, nuzzling his hair slightly with his nose taking in the smaller male's sweet scent.

"Thank you for our daughter. I love you." I whispered softly, placing a kiss on his forehead again.

He then turned his gaze from his lover to Susan, like her mother, she too was starting to fall asleep. The little one yawned several times which I thought was really cute. I watched in silence as the baby also fell asleep, my index finger in the baby's tiny surprisingly tight grip. Looking between Andy and Susan, I felt a warmth spread from my chest to the rest of my body. I now have a family. Fear soon hit me. I don't know the first thing about being a father.

"..You shouldn't worry so much, you are going to be fine."

Was the mumbled reply, the voice laced with exhaustion and sleepiness. "How do you know that? You know I'm not good with kids!" I argued, his voice lowering instantly when the baby shifted slightly in my arms. "...Who was the one who made sure I was taken care of while I was pregnant? Brought me all the food I wanted without hesitation? Who made sure that I never did anything that was even slightly unsafe?" The taller male questioned, "Me but-" I was cut off before I could even finish.

"Exactly...also did you not spend months talking to my belly when you thought I was asleep?" my face instantly heated up at that, "You spent a lot of time reading books about children so that you would know what to do when Susan was born did you not?" He continued breathlessly.

"..Yes.."

"See? Nothing to worry about...You'll be a good father." Andy said quietly, "But Ash?" he questioned. "Are you.....happy?" A grin broke out across my face. "Of course. Beyond happy. Why wouldn't I?"

"I don't know....just..."

I leaned down to give Andy a sweet, slow kiss on his soft lips. "You have no idea how happy I am. I love you both so much, you guys are my world." I whispered against the softer lips, smiling as now both Susan and Andy slept peacefully. I quietly took Susan with me and showed her to the guys who were practically crying to see her. Andy's done well. I'm lucky.
