Friends I think not

Chapter one

"Anna your gonna miss your flight." my mom called. "Ok I'm coming," I yelled back as I laced up my black and white vans. today I was going to California to visit my great grandma. "Okay so I have my luggage and my sunglasses," "do you have your phone," my mom asked obviously trying not to cry. "yes, and ill make sure to call you when I land," I said trying to calm her down. "Promise?" and that's when she broke into hysterics. I bit my lip and said "promise, now I have to go bye," "Bye" she bawled. and with that I left.

When I got to the airport I went through security and sat down in front of my gate. "Gate 5 now boarding. gate 5." I heard the lady call. as soon as she checked my ticket I got on the plane and was off to California. it was a two hour flight but at least I was there. I got off the plane and looks for my grandma. once I spotted he I ran to her and gave her the biggest hug. "grandma! I missed you so much." I practically yelled. "oh I missed you to Anna banana." she said in a hushed voice as I giggled at the nickname she gave me. "okay dear now let's get your bags and go home cause I have people coming over." she said smirking. "okay," I laughed, and with that I got my bag and we went back to her place. when we were pulling in the driveway I say a boy around 16-17 playing with a 4-5 year old. he turned and looked at us, and once I saw his face I almost started to pass out. he had bright ocean blue eyes, dark brown hair, muscle every wear, and he was not tall but slightly tall. I literally jumped out of my seat when I heard my grandma slam the door shut. "coming Anna," she yelled from the back. "yeah" I managed to say. once I got out my grandma turned toe wards the boy and said "oh hello Lilly. hi Austin,"she said cheerfully. "hi sue. how are you today," Austin said. "oh I'm good thanks for asking. "um- who is this," he asked. "Anna," I stated. "she's my great grand daughter, she is staying with me for the summer," grandma explained. "hello Anna. Hey um I'm having friends over tonight you know if you want to come by and meets some of my friends you can," he offered. "sure Ill be there, if its okay with you grandma?" I asked. "yes I think it will be wonderful," she said so joy fully. "okay see ya tonight!" he said. "k," I managed back. "Hey I was just wondering I you know any good beaches around," I asked him. "yeah I could show you one in an hour when my parents get home?" he offered. "that would be awesome!" I said happily. "okay come on Anna time to unpack," grandma said. "coming, bye Austin." I said. "bye," he said. after grandma took me to my room and let me unpack I quickly slipped on my black and white patterned bathing suit top and plain black bottoms. I put on my jean shorts and my black vans. "Bye grandma," I called as I went to open the door an grab a towel. "bye sweaty." she called back. and with that I closed the door and stood outside and waited till Austin came out. it ha been 10 minutes and still no sign of Austin. I waited another 5 minutes and then finally I saw Austin come out with black swim trunks, a white t-shirt, a towel, and keys. "hey where have you been I was standing out here for 15 minutes," I joked. "sorry my sister was puking," he said with a half smile. "its fine," I said back. "so you ready," he asked "yeah but first do you have a surf board?" I asked. "yeah, why," he said in return. "because I have mine that my mom sent two weeks ago And I want to go surfing but I don't have anyone to go with," I confessed. "sure. let me grab it but do you need a wet suit," he asked. I nodded. He ran to his garage and pulled out a small wet suit and a medium sized wetsuit along with his surf board. I grabbed mine and then we strapped the boards on top of his car and put the yet suits in the back of his jeep. and wit that we climbed in and started to drive. "so, what brings you to sunny California?" he asked. "well, I'm visiting my grandma and I love Cali," I exclaimed. "well your going to love the beach it's actually in walking distance it's just to much work to carry those boards and the wetsuits," he said. "I could imagine I live in Florida but so far I love Cali more," I confessed. "well that's great to hear," he laughed. It had only been 5 minutes and we were at the beach. we got our boards, wet suites, and towels and both of our phones and his keys and we went to go find a place to set our stuff. after I had my wet suite on I heard a high pitch scream coming our way. "Austin OMG hey," a blonde with blue eyes screamed. "Claudia hey," he said as they kissed. "who is this," she scoffed. "this is sue's great grand daughter Anna," he explained to her. "Hi," I greeted. she just scoffed again and rolled her eyes at me. "do what are you guys doing," she said. "were going surfing," he said. "ugh with her," she glared at me. "yes and she is also coming over tonight," he said sternly. "why," she whined. "because I invited her," he said trying to convince her to let it go. "fine," she stated not very nicely. and with that she skipped off. "sorry about that, she doesn't like the people who I hang out with," he said while scratching the back of his neck. "it's fine," I said. "So ready to ride the waves," he stated
