But for me, this was my reputation, this was my dance career all on the line

"If she messes up my hair, Sage I'm going to kill you and her." Alisha barked as I led her to my residence hall.

I rolled my eyes at how dramatic she was. Alisha had been moaning about how she needed her hair done, but didn't know anyone around who could do the sew in that she wanted. I remembered that Claire had mentioned to me about how she used to do hair in high school. I had mentioned the idea to Alisha who only jumped at it because she wanted her hair done by the game on Saturday. But now, after we had confirmed everything with Claire, she was being all skeptical about it.

"Are you hearing me Sage Whitehead? I'm not tryna look fucked up on my first game. I mean my mom is coming, my ex is coming..." Alisha sighed. "I'm not tryna look a mess." She finished.

"If you look a mess, I'll find somebody else to do your hair, okay?" I assured her, before using my key to open the door to my dorm room. Claire was prancing around in a pretty dramatic way as she got everything set up for Alisha. "Hey...we're here." I mentioned hoping Claire would take the hint and stop being all weird for once. Alisha and her already had a rocky relationship--the first time they met wasn't so pleasant. Alisha's eyes scanned the room. "Hello." She spoke. Claire stopped and sighed as she wiped the palm of her hands on the skirt she was wearing. When I had left, Claire was in sweatpants and a t-shirt. She definitely managed to get dressed up pretty nicely. For what reason, I didn't know, but it wasn't much of my business anyway.

"Hi, sorry. It's a mess, I know."

I glanced at the dorm room. It wasn't a mess. In fact, everything was put together quite nicely.

"You can have a seat right here." Claire spoke, as she patted the empty seat in front of her. Alisha turned around and faced me with a look that said 'wish me luck.'

"As much as I would love to sit around. I have some errands to run." The whole purpose of me inviting Alisha over (other than to do her hair) was so that Claire and Alisha could have some bonding time. Claire was my roommate, and Alisha was essentially my best friend. Their first meeting was really sucky, so hopefully, this meeting would allow the two of them to grow to tolerate each other at least.

"Are you serious? You're just going to leave me here?" Alisha's calm face was replaced with one that was filled with horror. I couldn't help but laugh at how over dramatic she was being. "Relax. Claire is not going to kill you." I mentioned as I applied a second coat of lip gloss, and spritzed myself with one of my favorite Victoria Secrets perfume. Claire giggled at the statement as she moved Alisha's head slightly to make the whole braiding process a lot easier. Biting my lip, I glanced at my reflection in the floating mirror situated near the door. The weather was definitely warming up a lot, and I definitely took the meaning of Summer heavily when I picked out this white crop top and denim cropped jeans to go with it.
