Frank's POV
"Frank, are you okay?", Remmy asks. He's been my best friend since middle school and I always go to him when I need to talk to someone. He's always been there.
I shrug in response. "That ass hat got me again." I point to my cheek and pull up my sleeves.
Remmy winces and sits down on the park bench. I sit down with him.
"You want some?", he asks as he reaches for the whiskey next to him.
"You always know", I say and reach for the bottle. A small smile spreads across my face as I take the first swig.
He gets it back and takes a drink. "Why don't you do something about him?", he asks, breaking the silence.
I stare at the sidewalk trying to find an answer. If this were a random person I'd flip them off, curse them out, and walk away. If this were my best friend I'd explain everything to him.
"I guess there's just nothing to do...", I trail off. "If I tell my mom she'll get even more overprotective. If I tell the cops they'll arrest Richard and he'll probably find me and-", my gaze wanders off to the road.
There's a police car. It's not driving fast or driving at all actually. It's just sitting there. We were being watched the whole time.
I shake Remmy's shoulder. "Has he been watching us the whole time?"
Remmy looks in the direction of the police car. "I don't even see anyone in there."
I watch as he gets up and staggers to the car. He goes to behind the restrooms and looks around the corner.
After he looks he comes back.
"The cop is talking to this guy. He looks about our age."
I grab the bottle and get up. "We better go then, before he sees us."
"Sorry Frank but I better go home before my dad notices I'm gone. I'll meet you here tomorrow night. Okay?", Remmy says as he rubs the back of his neck.
"Sure. I better get home too."
He pulls me into a hug and then we both leave.
When I get back to the house I notice the window to my room is open. What the fuck? I thought I closed it. Gerard couldn't have opened it, right?
I ignore the sense of fear building up inside of me and climb through the window.
"Where's Gerard?"
I jump and hit my head on the window. "M-Mom?"
"Where's Gerard?", she asks again. She sounds like she's on the verge of tears.
"Mom, what's wrong?"
She gives up on the question finally and pulls me into a hug.
"Thank God you're home. Gerard's not here and I'm really worried."
Could Gerard be the guy Remmy and I saw talking to the cop? It can't.
"Just relax. Knowing him he's probably just going to come back later tonight. If he doesn't you can call the cops in the morning. Go to sleep, I love you.", I tell her.
She nods and leaves my room. "I don't know what I would do without you Frank.", she says before she closed the door.
When she leaves I lay back down in my bed and go to sleep.
.
.
.I wake up to the sheets off of me.
I look over to see Gerard sleeping peacefully. He looks happier. I want to get to know him better. He is a good person.
I scoot closer to him.
The clock reads 6:39. I could get more sleep but I just want to stay awake next to Gerard. There's a weird feeling of safety that's always in me when I'm around him. Even though he doesn't seem to like me I want to become his friend. This isn't creepy at all, right?
I lean my head on his shoulder. He smells like cigarettes. It's a good smell though.
Eventually I finally go to sleep again.
Haaaaii. Sorry I haven't updated but that's because I'm changing my updating schedule to updating every Friday instead of Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's. I think that's all lol. Bye!
