This is an actual place in Norway and I had to search this up to understand the place more. So sorry if this is not totally correct. There was only little information about the area.
Also while writing the rest of these parts, I was in the hospital with a splint to support my IV so I apologize for some typos.

You wished that you bought more parkas and gloves. You were freezing your ass up in the most northern place you've been too so far. Lukas was even shivering a bit from the cold. It was colder than Hammerfest. You had to stop by some villages to get supplies for the short stay on the inhabited island.

"So you're going to teach me how to be a hunter here is this place?"

"Yes, problem?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's cold as fuck here and there is only one house with a broken heater. Also, there's no wifi around here." You grumbled.

You were supposed to update your fanfic tonight, but you guessed that it just had to wait until January or February.

You stared at the house on top of the hill. The people from the village warned the both of you about the broken heater and that you both should bring firewood. You both entered the small house only meeting one small door at the edge if the corner while the rest of the house was like a small apartment. There was a kitchenette, a couch, a small dinning area with two chairs, a radio to communicate with the mainland or the villages, a first-aid kit on the wall nearby next to the fire extinguisher, a small dresser, and a small bed. There was a small fireplace that had a good distance between the bed and the couch.

You walked towards the couch and flopped on it. You groaned from the tiring trip, and the fact that you were almost out of breath from walking up hill with a heavy bag and some equipment.

"I'll take the couch, I like sleeping on the couch..." You groaned and snugged your face into the surprisingly warm couch. You expected it to be cold since no one was taking care of the house, but it was definitely very warm.

"I'll start the fire." Lukas announced.

You looked up and followed your companion with your eyes. You watched him closely. He's been acting strange lately. You didn't understand this. He was more approachable and you were more comfortable with him. You both grew closer like friends. You had no problem with that of course, but everything always went on strange.

You needed insect repellent in your stomach to keep the butterflies away, but it felt like no insect repellent can keep them away. The butterflies bothered you along with the heart beats that quickened its pace as you meet eye to eye. It bothered you more than the last call Amelia made telling you that she got lost in Belgium and ended up walking all the way to the Netherlands. You swore that she might've been drunk, but she remembered everything she has walked through.

"Hey, Lukas?" You spoke. "You said that you guys were only half-brothers, right?"

"Ja, why?" He ignited a match and threw it in the fireplace.

"Is Berwald Swedish? He seems fluent."

"Before we moved up here in Hammerfest with the others, Berwald was raised to be a fighter by his mother." Lukas poked the fire with the metal rod. "He moved in with us once his mother died from a hunt."

"What was she hunting?" You asked.

"Have you heard of the Russian lore of Baba Yaga?"
