Chapter 25. You Have To Want Me Too

Melanie P.O.V.
I stood there in complete shock as he stood in front of me. His brown eyes much closer didn't look brown at all. They are a dark shade of green but as I continued to look into them it was almost as if they were transforming into a mix of dark brown and electric green but not quite hazel. They were so significant until and I continue to stare until I am pulled away and pushed behind Andy's back.

"What do you want with us?" Andy growled out.
"I want nothing from you, I only want to join you." His voice is deep and raspy but at the same his thick British accent is audible. A wave of nervousness rushes through my veins as I hold Andy's hand from behind his back and peek from the side. I didn't think I would ever see him again or at least not this soon but now that he is here it is harder for me to realise that he was actually here in the same room as me, not even six feet away. We make eye contact from where we stand but before another second passes he looks down at Andy's fingers intertwined with mine. His sharp features become cold and I can see anger burning in his eyes.
"We don't need anyone else to deal with in our gang." Andy spits out.
"Oh, but you do need me." His voice is just as harsh as Andy's is.
"No we do-"
"But you do."
Right then Ashley butts in before things can get too heated.
"Andy just let him explain." Andy stares at Ashley for a couple of seconds before nodding stiffly. Stephan smirks and his eyes narrow a tiny bit before he starts speaking. In a flash all his emotions are hidden and no sign of any sort of feeling takes over his hard features.
"I had become part of their gang only about a month ago for a little excitement in my dull  little life," you can hear the boredom and sarcasm in his voice as he begins to explain "I was never really serious about it and definitely wasn't committed. I was fully aware that I could die but I didn't care, however one day I was recruited to a certain mission that only the best members in the gang were chosen for. I have to say I was a bit ecstatic when I find out that we were going to attempt to take down one of the strongest gangs in the city, but I soon found out that you guys aren't the strongest. I wasn't as excited anymore but I was still a bit determined to take you down, I and this other moron were asked to scout you and you men for any useful information anything would do. While we were searching we couldn't help but see you and your little lover in the depths of the library. I had no intention of leaking the information to my boss however the other man I was working with was determined to prove to our boss that we could get the job done. So that's how they found out about you. I was so awestruck by your love I just couldn't stand not helping you two stay together, plus I never even cared about anyone in my former gang. And that my friends is how I ended up here."
We all stayed silent as we watched Stephan smile sarcastically in the middle of the room.
"You were watching Melanie in the hospital."
"So that's her name, huh?" He looked straight at me and I couldn't help but notice that his eyes soften. I stare back at him and let wonder and confusion take over my face. Stephan makes a clicking sound with his tongue and whips his head in Andy's direction.
"That thing in the hospital was part of the 'scouting' mission."
"I see..." I look at Andy and see that he is deep in thought. I know that Stephan's reasoning wasn't completely told out, but I didn't know if any of us could trust us or not. This isn't a make-believe fantasy this is the mafia we are dealing with. One thing I had learned about through all of my years of abuse is that you can't trust anybody and that there's always two sides to every story, and I had a gut feeling that Stephan's wasn't completely told.
"So lad, you going to let me in or not?" Stephan asks as he sits himself down on a black U-shaped chair. Andy stays silent as he continues to ponder over his thoughts, until he looks up and nods his head.
"Ok, you're in." Stephan smiles before he stands up to shake Andy's hand. Andy just stares at it until he gets up a lightly shakes it.
"Alright lads, first things first we have to get out of here as soon as possible as your friend said."
"Right, Ashley you track how long we have I'll go tell everyone to start packing for the airport, Mel stay here." I nod my head quickly and sit myself on the bed.
"And what about me...?" Stephan asks.
"Stay here and watch over Mel." Before Andy walks out he gives me a soft yet passionate kiss on the lips then pecks them one more time.
"Stay out of trouble." He pinches my nose before pecking it once.
"I'll try." He chuckles before walking nodding stiffly at Stephan, he nods back before he comes a little closer to me. I pretend not to notice and pick at the nail polish that is already chipping.
I don't notice that he's right next to me until I feel his shoulder bump my own.
"Uh...hi." I say awkwardly. I feel my skin warm up where his shoulder is.
"Hey there little one." I glare at him before turning my head toward the window, peeking outside.
"I don't believe I have properly introduced my self." I glance at him before turning back and shaking my head.
"I don't believe so."
"Well I am Stephan Snow, and you are...?"
"You already know my name."
"Your full name precious."
"First of all please don't give me any cheesy nicknames and second of all I think that you already know enough about me."
"I am not like those other people so I didn't go snooping around in your files, darling."
"Oh I'm sorry." I am a bit surprised at this and there's just something about Stephan that assures me he isn't lying.

"It's fine, but it would be great if I could know your full name." He leans his head lower so that he is looking up at me, I feel him getting closer by the second so I quickly look away.
"My name is Melanie Grace."
"That's all...?"
"That's all I consider." I say this a little more coldly than I had intended so I quickly apologise. I feel a bit suspicious about his reasoning and curious about why he would ever want to help us it I can't bring myself to ask.
Mel it's nothing big and if he gets mad you'll have Andy...yeah it'll be cool.
"H-Hey Stephan...?" He grunts in response. I face him and see that he was already looking toward me so our faces become close. My eyes go wide and I gasp as I look at the intense feelings his eyes show. I quickly snap out of my weird trance and scoot back to the other side of the bed. His eyes show a flash of disappointment before his stone-cold face returns.
"What were you going to ask?"
"R-Right."
"Well go on, spit it out."
"I-I am sorry if I am wrong but I feel like there is another reason you are helping us."
"I see you've seen right through me."
"Y-Yeah, so why don't you t-tell me."
"Well if you insist." I stare at him for two seconds before nodding me head.
"Well what everyone is failing to understand is that I came here to help because I want you."
"W-what?"
"You heard me, love."
"B-but....why...I mean...what...?"
"Well for starters do you know how drop-dead gorgeous you are?" I stare shocked completely at loss for words.
"Second of all you are so sweet and kind, the reason I came is because in order to get to your lover-boy my former gang would probably have to harm or maybe even kill you and I just can't let that happen."
"Y-You want me?" I still couldn't exchange it all.
"I want you very much Melanie, but your going to have to do something."
"What's that...?"
"You have to want me too, and I will do anything to make that happen."
