A/N: Another long chapter for you, lovely people :)

-------

Cameron was stressed out.

He was extremely tense.

It had been 3 days since Lauren had confessed her feelings about Camila. And nothing had happened after that.

They had been staying at the same hotel during the girls' days off and the LA show they've had the night before, but Cameron hadn't been able to talk to Lauren or Camila. James had had some problems with equipment and, of course, he had needed Cameron's help. James had apologized a thousand times but he wasn't really to blame. If they wanted people to believe Cameron's excuse to be there, they had to act the part.

So, between all the extra work and the girls' schedule, Cameron had barely had time to say hello to Lauren a couple of times. This had earned him a few stares from Camila, who happened to be by Lauren's side all the time.

Cameron didn't mind to be hated. He had a job to do and he would do whatever it took to make sure his mothers' futures, and his own, were fixed. Even though, he had to admit, it did hurt that it was Camila the one hating him.

James insisted that the fact that Camila and Lauren were being friendly to each other meant he was succeeding. But Cameron needed a second opinion. Maybe talking to one of the other girls would be a good idea. They spent more time with his moms. They'd have noticed any change.

Cameron pressed the elevator button to go to the lobby. He had been woken up early because they needed to move equipment. Their short stay at the hotel was over and they would be back on the road in a few hours.

The elevator doors opened and he was suddenly right in front of a very familiar face.

"Oh, hi! Sorry," Clara greeted and smiled, "Wait. Do I know you?"

"I-No, I don't think so, ma'am," he replied politely because clearly Clara wouldn't respond well to being called grandma by a complete stranger.

"Yes, I do," she insisted, "I've seen you before. What's your name?"

"Cameron."

She thought for a second and then, "Cam! Lauren's new friend, right? I'm Clara. Lauren's mom."

"Oh, yeah that's me" Cameron laughed nervously, "It's very nice to meet you."

"Aren't you a good looking young man," she smiled, "Have you seen Lauren today, Cameron?"

"Eh, no ma'am," he tried to ignore the comment.

"Call me Clara," she pat his arm, "I guess she must be I'm her room., I'll go looking for her."

With one more smile she disappeared behind the elevator doors and Cameron let out the breath he didn't know he was holding.

This was something he wasn't sure he was ready for.

Lauren heard her phone and reached for it, still half asleep.

"Hello?"

"Lauren?" Normani's voice replied, "Will was calling you."

"I was sleeping," Lauren groaned, voice raspy, "What happened?

"Nothing," her friend said, "But we need to check out soon, so you'd better start getting ready."

"Ugh, fine." Lauren rubbed her eyes with her free hand, "Anything else?"
