"So, how was the big date last night?" Peggy called after me as I walked out of the mess hall after breakfast. I stopped and waited for her to catch up before I answered her question.

"It was amazing. Dinner was delicious, and dancing...well, that was somethin' else." I smiled dreamily as a light pink blush dusted my cheeks. Peggy returned my smile as she wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"So, if he asked you, would you go on a second date?" she inquired, a knowing smirk plastered across her face.

"Of course. If I'm being honest, and please do not tell Steve or Bucky I said this, but I think he might be the one." I whispered the last couple words. Peggy's eyes widened in shock as she turned her head to look me in the eyes.

"Are you sure? You've only been on one date." she pointed out.

"Yes, but I've known him practically my entire life; I've had a crush on him for as long as I can remember. Before you say anything else, I've thought this over a million times. Of course it's way too early to do anything about it, but when the time comes, I'll be ready." I told her confidently. Peggy looked at me for a moment longer before she pulled me into a hug.

"You're like the sister I never had, but always wanted." she murmured in my ear. I gave her a squeeze as I wrapped my arms around her, returning her hug. When we pulled away from each other a few moments later, I could see tears welling up in the corner of her eyes.

"Oh, Peggy, you're like my sister too. Thank you, for everything." I told her, placing a hand comfortingly on her shoulder. All she did was give me a smile before she excused herself. I knew Peggy didn't like showing off her emotions that much, so I understood why she left.

"Hey, doll. I've been looking everywhere for you." an all too familiar voice called out from behind me.

"Did you need something, Buck?" I asked, turning around to face him. I was greeted with one of the most amazing sights anyone could see. Bucky was wearing his blue overcoat that he always wore on missions paired with dark brown, almost black, pants. His hair was slicked back out of his face, causing his blue eyes to stand out more than they already do.

"Yeah, I did. We're leaving for our next mission in about a half hour." he told me as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"A half an hour?!" I yelled, pulling away from him.

"Did Steve not tell you?" Bucky asked.

"No, he didn't. Let me go get ready." I sighed, running my fingers through my blonde hair.

"I'll come with you." Bucky smiled cheekily as he followed me to my tent.

"I can manage on my own, Buck." I laughed as I walked inside.

"I know you can. I just want to spend some more time with my girl." he chuckled as he sprawled across my bed. I ignored him and rolled my eyes, although I was happy that he thought of me as 'his girl'.

"Your girl, huh?" I questioned as I pulled my uniform out of my trunk.

"My one and only." Bucky replied, standing up from my bed. Just as I turned around, my face met his chest as he wrapped his arms around me. I tossed my uniform onto the closest chair so I could wrap my arms around his waist.

"You're too sweet, Buck. You truly are." I smiled into his chest as I buried my face there.

"That's all you, doll." Bucky turned the compliment back to me. I laughed as I lightly smacked his arm.

"Take a compliment for once, Bucky." I lightly chided him. He let out a loud laugh, which was music to my ears. It made my smile wider and my love for him only grew.
