Chapter 7.

Allie's POV :)

"Niall you really shouldn't be doing do this for me. You are putting yourself in danger."

"Allie I'm not scared of your little boyfriend. I'm not even worried about him. His he even here today?"

"No," I reply.

I really don't want him to ask anymore questions.

"Why not?"

"Because he just isn't okay!" I shout at him.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll shut up now," he says.

"Thank you."

We pull up into the parking lot of the clinic.

Niall and I both hop out of the car and we walk up to the door.

Niall holds the door open for me.

Wow.

This is different.

Jonah never holds the door open for me.

He probably wouldn't even care if the door smacked me in the face.

I walk up to the sign-in area and sign my name on the sheet.

The receptionist lady hands me paperwork to fill out.

Once I fill out the paperwork, I hand it back to the lady.

"Thank you sweetheart," she says.

"No problem," I say trying to give her a courtesy smile. But, it hurts.

I sit back down next to Niall.

"It looks like we are gonna be here for a while," Niall says.

"Yeah."

There are at least 10 people ahead of us. I hope it goes fast because I really want my cheek to feel better.

"So Allie tell me about yourself," he says smiling at me.

He has a nice smile.

"Are you seriously asking me that right now? My mouth hurts just by talking to you."

"Oh. I'm sorry," he says. "Well how about this. I'll tell you about myself."

Even though I didn't really feel like hearing anyone talk right now, I let him talk to me.

"Well I'm Irish," he says.

I can tell by his accent that he is Irish. I just never really thought about it.

"I'm 20...ummm I used to have braces."

I laugh at him. He used to have braces?

"Yeah I know," he laughs. "That was a little while ago though."

He has a nice laugh. It's kind of contagious.

I start laughing.

"What's so funny?" he asks.

"Nothing," I say while laughing. "Your laugh is just contagious."

Then he starts laughing so loud that I laugh even louder.

We get shushed by everyone in the room.

I haven't had this much fun in a while.

Suddenly the door opens up and a nurse steps out.

"Allie Bentley."


Niall's POV :)

The nurse leads me and Allie to an examination room.

"The doctor should be in here shortly," she replies.

I look over at Allie and she looks nervous.

"Everything is going to be okay Allie."

She tries to smile at me but it doesn't work out.

I laugh at her and she flicks me off.

The door opens up and the doctor walks in.

He has all grey hair and looks like he is in his 50's.

"Hello Allie, my name is Dr. Heidelbach," he says while shaking her hand.

"Is this your boyfriend?" he says while pointing to me.

"Umm no. I'm her friend, Niall."

"Nice to meet you Niall," he says while shaking my hand.

"So, Allie your cheek is very swollen and it has multiple bruises on it. What exactly happened?"

"Ummm, I was hit."

"Do you remember who hit you?" he asks.

"No," she replies very quickly.

The doctor turns and faces me.

"Do you have any idea who could've done this to her Niall?"

Allie looks at me.

I wanna scream out Jonah.

But, that would ruin our friendship.

"No. Not at all."

"Hmmm. Well this is odd," the doctor says. "Sadly, we won't be able to do much for you except for giving you some pain medication and an ice pack."

The doctor hands her a bottle of pills.

"You have to make sure you take these twice a day. These will help the bruising and swelling to go away."

Allie nods her head.

"I'm sure you're friend Niall here will make sure you take these everyday. Right Niall?"

"Yup. I'll make sure she takes them."

"Well I think that's all I can do for you Allie. I hope you get to feeling better soon," the doctor says.

"Thanks Doc," she says.

"It's my job," he says while smiling at her.

The doctor opens the door and exits the room.

"See that wasn't too bad was it?" I ask Allie.

"No, not at all."

I look at the clock on my phone. It's 2:20.

"There's no point going back to school now. Do ya want me to just take you home?"

"Yes please."
