When the skies turned dark.
The only light there
Was from the thousand stars.
"What do you see?"
Was what she would ask
Gazing at the studded sky
Stretching miles apart.
"Hope and love and new beginnings,
Something great, a miraculous task,"
Was what I'd say and look her way
To see my own personal star.
