Fighting through the pain, I run as fast as I can up the stairs. Fuck elevators, I can do this and be faster, and I have half a leg. My five in the morning rush has not worn off and I run up the stairs to the floor I need to be on. A few people stare at me as I run around the halls, a few nurses smiling or laughing.

But I shove her room door open and take in a sight I've waited three months for.

"My girl," I breathe out, my eyes filling with tears. Allie opens her arms, smiling at me. I slide onto the bed and wrap my arms around her, her arms wrapping around my neck. There has never been a greater feeling than to hold her back in my arms again.

My eyes squeezed shut and I cry, her fingers tight on my shirt and head nuzzled into my neck. I lift her onto my lap and she muffles a laugh, my arms holding her closer.

"You're okay. Oh, baby, fuck I've missed you," I cry out, her hand winding into my hair.

"I love you," she whispers, my head lifting. I start to kiss her face and she laugh, my hands grabbing her cheeks and kissing her. I can't think straight and I'm completely taken away by her.

"I love you too. I was here for you the whole time, just waiting for my girl to come back to me," I manage to get out, crying like a baby because of how happy I am. She grabs my hands and leans her head up, kissing me again. Then she cups my face and I relish in the feeling. I've missed her, missed this so much. More than she could possibly comprehend.

Our foreheads press together and she wraps her arms back around me, my hands holding her small frame close.

"How are you?" she asks, her small hands playing with my hair.

"So much better with you," I tell her, my hands basking in her warmth.

"What's new?" she wonders, Allie staying in my lap and staying close.

"Baby, I moved you into my place," I tell her, her eyes widening. "And your brothers sold your apartment."

"Really?" she gasps, my head nodding.

"But that is not my best news," I say, her eyebrows lifting.

"You, beautiful, got two packets of information from colleges," I say, her lips parting. "I couldn't look. I had to save your excitement."

She smiles and hugs me close again, my eyes closing and taking her in. I'm still so happy and on the clouds, never imagining how good this would feel. My hopes were nothing in comparison to the real thing.

"Other than that, just my usually routine, a few doctors appointments and staying here all day," I smile, her hand grabbing my cheek.

"Let it be known that I would stay with you if you ever get in an accident," she says, making my heart stop. I part my lips and she nods. "I will always stay by your side."

She lightly kisses me and I close my eyes. "I love you so much," I tell her, knowing that the most important thing we need is each other. I've always wanted the reassurance and she has given me a life supply. All I have left to give is myself, and she can happily take me.

"I love you too," she grins, kissing me one last time. I carefully lift her and lay her down, her jaw clenching when she lays on her side.

"What's wrong? Where does it hurt?" I gush, her hand grabbing mine.

"My ribs, but it's okay. The doctors told me they'd be sore," she says, my eyebrows frowning. She lifts my hand and kisses the back, her hand warm.

"I'm okay," she tells me, my body leaning down. She moves her hands to my cheeks and starts pecking my lips, the distraction working all too well.

"It's sad to say I'm not surprised to see you here," I hear the nurse say, making me laugh. I look up and smile, moving my head up. I turn and kiss Allie's forehead again before I move into my usual chair, keeping her hand in mine.

They do a check-up on her and I pay attention when they start to remove her gown. A male nurse has since entered the room and I immediately stand up.

"Wait, I want him out," I say, Allie slapping my arm.

"They're just looking at my side," she says, my hand holding the gown over her chest. She just rolls her eyes but smiles, my eyes making sure she's completely covered from the nurse.

They finish and I help her get back dressed, her hand setting on my waist. "You're as beautiful as always," I tell her, her hand squeezing my side. She lifts her arms and I lean back down, her arms wrapping around my neck.

"You always know how to protect me," she whispers, my hand setting on her waist while the other supports my weight above her.

"I'll never stop," I remind her, kissing her again. But this time she's making it last and I move my lips with hers, her little tongue running against my lower lip.

"Oh my God, I missed you," I moan lightly, her lips pressing to my chin.

"And I get to live with you," she whispers, beaming after. I smile and kiss her again, her head pulling away to rub her nose with mine. But I shock her when I bring my hands to her chest, giving a gentle squeeze. But I get her to laugh out loud and she sets her hands over mine. I've never been so happy, her blue eyes bright.

"Glad to see you're all here still," I laugh, hers joining mine. I move our hands back together and I kiss her cheek, letting her go. She closes her eyes and I sit beside her, my eyes watching her rest. But she grabs my hand and rests it on her stomach, her lips releasing a sigh.

"I'm so happy you're okay," I whisper, resting my chin on the edge of the bed.

"Me too," she says, my smile growing as I watch hers grow in her sleep.
