Did you know
that thunder
is the sound
of lightning?
I was inspired
to write this poem
because there was a
thunder and lightning storm
around 12:30am or so.
Thunder.
A loud sound
that scares many
away from their slumber.
Lightning.
A brilliant light
that seems pretty
until it goes and...
strikes.
I like Thunder
and
I like Lightning.
Not because of their
dangerous qualities,
but because of their beauty.
Lightning is beautiful,
but terribly deadly.
Thunder is
harmless
but makes a big BOOM!
They remind me of my brother
a boy from another father
a boy who loved thunder,
lightning, and rain.
Does he still love them?
I do not know.
But they remind me of him
all the same.
Thunder and Lightning
may scare other people
but for me it ia quite soothing
because it silences my brooding
and lets me wonder
how it all works.
Thunder and Lightning

two things only sensed
when they are in the air.
