Chapter 13

I couldn't help but feel nervous at dinner, Alina's excitement was practically tangible as she kept sending knowing glances my way and grinning as we ate. I wouldn't need condoms tonight because females could only conceive during their heat and in order to finalize our bond we couldn't use one, but the whole idea of finishing the mating process had me both nervous and excited.

"Are you okay?" James asked his daughter.

Alina just grinned and shoved a fork full of spaghetti in her mouth.

I stood up and began cleaning the kitchen, gesturing to Alina to come join me.

She grinned and collected the plates from the table, placing them in the sink quickly and I knew she was trying to bid me time to get my shit together as I grew nervous.

I turned the faucet on to drown out our voices so I could whisper to her.

"Obvious much?" I whispered.

She was about to respond when the door banged open, beach blonde hair was the first thing I saw and I immediately was annoyed.

"Why are you here Vivian?!" Growled Alina.

"I came for that bitch!" She yelled as her eyes landed on me.

If she wanted to fight I certainly wasn't going to back down. I had something to fight for now. This was my home. These people were my family.

  Alina stepped towards her, but I yanked her behind me by her arm, growling.

"If you've got something you would like to say, you can say it to me. I am not afraid of you." I said.

"You should be. I can end you." She growled.

"Try me." I growled, stepping closer so our chest nearly touched.  My father and James were up in a moment, but I held my hand up to them. This would continue to happen until I dealt with it.

"Oh I already did. Tell me did you like your pasta at Pierre's? It had a nice kick, didn't it?" She whispered.

  I had enough.

I growled as I clutched her by the neck and walked us forward, gripping tighter as she struggled against my hold. I opened the door and tossed her back onto the sleet covered cement.

"I'll beat your pathetic ass later, right now I'm enjoying my family, so get the hell out of my house and don't go near any one of them, especially Kieran, because he is mine and I can promise you won't even see me coming, have a nice night though. I know I will." I boomed and slammed the door shut.

I turned around to see Kieran at the bottom of the stairs, now awake from his little nap. 

He was smirking at my little rant and I almost felt like I wanted her blood and I quickly understood how easily it was for my wolf to make decisions without thinking. Even now, I felt the urge to open the door and sink my teeth into her.

"Somebody's possessive." He said and wiggled his eyebrows.

"Don't act like you aren't enjoying this." I said.

"Having my sexy little mate walking around with wild hair and a feisty attitude and proclaiming to every female that I am hers? No, I'm not enjoying this all." He said laughing and heading to the cupboard.

I watched as he grabbed a bowl from the counter and placed it on the marble countertop. I cursed inwardly as he hovered over my black plastic bag of "goodies" that Alina was supposed to put away.

I froze when his hand darted down and he peered inside the bag.

I cursed silently, immediately regretting that I didn't make sure Alina put them away.

I sighed in relief when he pulled out a tube of toothpaste.

I heard Alina curse and chuckle and I growled lowly as I sent her a pleading look.

"Get everyone out of here, please." I whispered in her ear.

She nodded and suddenly perked up.

"I made a peach cobbler earlier, would you guys like to come by the cabin for some? We've got ice cream too." She said aloud.

Everyone nodded and began filing out the house, Daniel grinning knowingly at me.

I gripped Kieran's hand as he began to walk and I pulled him back.

"You aren't going anywhere." I said.

He knit his eyebrows together in confusion and I chuckled and pressed my lips to his softly before pulling away.

"I've missed you. I want to spend time alone with you." I said.

He smiled and pressed a kiss to my forehead.

"It's been a long day. Why don't you go get ready for bed and I'll eat and finish cleaning the kitchen." He said.

I kissed his lips once more before walking up the stairs, bolting as soon as I reached the hallway near our room.

I hurriedly jumped in the shower and washed my body and hair,making sure I smelled nice before I got out. Alina took me to a Spa earlier and they nearly waxed everything much to my disbelief, so I was fine in the grooming department.

I struggled with the lingerie, not quite remembering how I had put it on in the store. It was made of black lace and delicate fabric and I tried my best to make it look as it had before.

I sighed in relief when the lace undergarments finally looked how they were supposed to. I stared at myself in the mirror, wishing I was more fuller up top while nearly praying that I had less on my bottom half, but I knew Kieran enjoyed my shape. I would catch his eyes watching my hips sway now and again and the thought made me blush as I took in a deep breath. He loved me as I was, so I should too.

I ran out the closet, placing the condoms inside the bedside table just as I heard Kieran coming towards the room.

I sat on the corner of the bed quietly, trying my best to appear confident in the lingerie.

I watched as the door open and he froze when he saw me, his eyes changing color as they raked down my frame.

"Charlotte." He said lowly,

"Kieran." I said quietly. 

I stood up bravely and walked over to him, stunning him with my boldness as I kissed him.

He growled in approval as I gripped the hem of his shirt and began tugging it up over his head as we kissed.

I broke our kiss, looking up into his eyes as I tossed his shirt to the ground.

"Charlotte, one more kiss and I'm going to ravish you, there'll be no going back." He warned.

I grinned and kissed his lips in response.

I pulled away and he grinned his devilishly handsome grin and he spoke the three words I never thought capable from the man of legends.

"I love you."
