Part 14

*Darcy’s PoV*

As I started to walk to the bathroom to wash my new wounds, I ran into my Mom. “Darce, Honey. I need you to…” Her eyes landed on my wounds, “Oh no… Not you too…” “I’m sorry.” I said, starting to cry. “Come on.” she said, soothingly, “Let’s get you cleaned up, and then we need to have a family meeting.” “A Styles family meeting?” I asked, and she shook her head, “A One Direction Family Meeting.”

*3rd Person PoV*

The family members poured into the living room of the Horan/Payne House. The little 3 were sent outside to play, and the last members to enter were Ryan and Heather, who sat curled up in a chair in the corner. All eyes were on Caitlyn Styles, who had called the meeting to order. “We all have secrets we keep. I have some… Diana has some… Annabel has some…” Everyone hung their head as Caitlyn continued, “But I think we all need to come clean with our kids and each other. Kids, do any of you have something to confess?”

Darcy stood up, and lifted the sleeve of her hoodie, “I cut myself.” Gasps filled the room, as she sat down, and Sydney and Zack stood up, “We’ve been dating for 6 months.” “I was abused…” Heather almost whispered out, as Ryan held her close. Ethan just sat alone in the corner, listening to all the problems his friends had.

The gasps stopped and Diana Horan stood up, “Now, I will confess something to you kids.” She took her sweater of, revealing her countless scars, “I used to cut too.” The kids gasped, and she continued, “I was dating Niall through out his fame in the band. I received countless letter of hate, which drove me to do this… That’s why the band ‘split up‘; we didn’t want you guys to receive hate too.” Ryan raised his hand, “Mom, did you cut your face too?” Annabel Payne sighed, and stood up, “No, that was me.”

The gasps returned, and Annabel sighed, “I went through a psychotic break 20 years ago. I was rejected by my boyfriend, because I also cut. I noticed how much Niall loved his cutting girlfriend, and I just lost it. I hunted Diana down, and caused this family so much pain.”

She started to cry, and Liam finished her story, “Diana forgave Annabel, but I was like Diana’s big brother, and I vowed to never forgive her. Until, I really got to know Annabel, and I fell in love with her. We had one date, which ended badly because of me, and she took off in the middle of the night. The next morning I searched everywhere for her; to apologize for what I had done to her. And I eventually found her at her ex’s place. I professed my love for her and accepted it. But then we heard what happened before I got there.”

Annabel took a deep breath, “I was highly intoxicated, so I didn’t remember much of the night before. But my ex confessed to taking advantage of me when I was in that state.” The adults and kids, except Ryan and Heather, gasped. “I couldn’t handle the news, and tried to kill myself. Niall was the one that saved me.” She sighed, “We tried to forget that night, but a reminder came up 3 weeks later. I was pregnant with his baby. I was pregnant with Heather…”

The gasps, and chatter came from everyone, and Caitlyn calmed everyone down. “Now, I have my story to tell. I also cut, but it was from bullies at my school. Eventually, I was known as Cutting Kate. I had stopped, but then it got worse and I almost started again, until I saw a letter Diana had sent about staying strong. I did so, and did everything I could to thank Diana for what she had done. I met Harry, and we started long distance dating. I decided that life at home was too difficult and than no one there loved me, so I decided to go on tour with Harry.

Eventually, one of the bullies from my school tracked me down, and tried to take advantage on me. Harry saved me, but the guy was never caught.”

The chatter of all the new news filled the room.
