Chapter Thirty Three

"Wakey,wakey.Eggs are bakey!!"came the voice of Margo.

I groaned,"5 more minutes."

"Nope.No more 5 minutes!C'mon,we have a visitor!"she began shaking me.

"All right,all right.L-let me get dressed first,"I stood up and was about to go to the bathroom when I heard Margo laughed.

"I got you!!"

I turned my head towards her with a death glare,"Margo!!"

"Oh,c'mon.Can you kindly escort me to my school?"Margo pouted.

"No!You ruined my sleep and that is last thing you want to do,"I warned.

"Oh,I'm so scared,"she covered her face with a pillow,"Just this once and I'll accompany you in buying whatever you want."

"Okay!"I quickly answered.

It's been a week since I left the beach.I still can't get Gabriel and Betty out of my head that day.It hurts so much.Even though this is all a lie.

"Here we are,"I sighed.

"Thanks,sis!"Margo got out of the car and ran inside.
I wonder how can she be all cheerful when she and her boyfriend broke up.
Well,if I were Margo,I would be the one who broke up with him.

I went to the office and picked out some papers I had to work on.
It's a little bit scary since you can't see a thing because it's so dark.
Suddenly,the light opened and confetti started falling down.People started shouting"Happy Birthday" loudly.

I forgot it's my birthday!
Then,Gabriel walked towards me with a flower,"Happy Birthday,Megan."

I accepted the flower,"W-who did this?"

"Well,your sister and mom told me the plan when we were still at the beach so I spent my whole day organizing your birthday,"he smiled innocently.

My eyes began to water and a smile was form on my lips,"Thank you."

"Happy birthday,sis,"I heard someone greeted.

"Margo,"I said,"I thought you said you needed a ride to school?"

"Sis,today's Saturday.We knew you won't notice,"she grinned.
Mom came out suddenly.

"Mom,thanks for all this,"I said.

"It's nothing,dear.It's your birthday today so stop crying,"she hugged me.

"Okay,stop the drama,"someone said.

When I looked at my right,Mark was standing there.

"Mark,you knew this,too?"I asked.

"Yep.Surprise!"he chirped.

"So,is there something else I don't know that you know?"I asked while smiling.

"No more,"Margo replied.

"Cheers to the birthday girl!"Mark shouted.

"Cheers!!"everyone said in unison.

Suddenly,everything was ruined when the door flew open,showing Betty crying.

"You liar!!"she shouted.

"What's she doing here?"Mark asked.

"I swear,I didn't invite her,"Margo whispered.

All of a sudden,Gabriel's dad showed up,"Is it all true,Gabriel?"

"W-what's true?"he asked lowly.

"That you and Ms.Hill aren't married?"he asked bitterly.

Gabriel gulped,"D-dad,I can explain.."

"No!"Rick growled,"I never took you for a liar."

Rick walked away leaving almost all of our guests surprised.

"Honey,"mom said,"Is that all true?"

"Mom.."I trailed off.

"What do we do now?"I asked wiping my tears.

"I don't know.Everyone already knows,"Gabriel replied.

"M-maybe we should stop this already,Gab.They already know about this pretend stuff.It's not gonna work anymore,"I mumbled.

"No.Please don't give up.Please.."

"Gab,we can't anymore.Nobody is going  to believe us..."

"Megan,through the months we've been together,did you feel anything for me?"he asked,his voice trembling.

"I-"

I looked at him.

"I don't feel a-anything.."I replied,hiding the pain.

This is the best way to stop this nonsense.Since our cover is already been blown,there's nothing we can do.
I walked of feeling guilty and all but this is for the best.
