⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Mr. Clarke and Mr. Hall were debating and throwing facts at each others head for about an hour now, and Chloe and I were almost exploding because we just wanted to know the punishment Nick would get. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"May I call out a witness, present in this court?" Mr. Hall announced, as he asked for the Judges permission. The judge nodded and Mr. Hall took a deep breath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"May I ask that Kendall Vertes, sister of Nick Rowen tells her side of the story?" Mr. Hall said. Kendall stood up and walked up to the front, was sworn in the oath, and then she pressed her lips on each other nervously. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"First of all, Kendall Vertes..." The judge said, looking down at his papers. "I read here that you're related to Nick Rowen, but how can you explain the difference in surname?" The judge asked, looking at Kendall over his glasses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Y-yes..." She quietly said, "When I was ten years old, and Nick twelve... Our parents got in a big fight. Our mother and father hated each other to death, and Nick refused to have his last name to be his fathers name. So from the moment he was eighteen, he changed it." She explained. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Okay..." The judge said, clearing his throat. "What do you have to say about the behaviour of your brother lately?" He asked, staring directly into Kendalls eyes. She glanced over to Nick and took a deep breath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I don't recognize him anymore" She said, shaking her head slowly. "It all begun four years ago, when the incident of Ricky and I happened." She explained. "I- I couldn't help but be jealous when Ricky wasn't around me." She said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I pressed my lips on each other and held my breath, while listening to everything Kendall was saying right now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I have no idea what was wrong with me, but this is not what I wanted. I never wanted Rickys parents to die, I swear. Nick told me he had sabotaged the brakes of their car, but before I could do something about it, the accident already happened." She said, tears forming in her eyes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I was under aged, so I took the blame. I couldn't let my brother go to prison, could I?" She sobbed. "I love my brother, with whole my heart. So I visited him every single day during the six months he was in prison." She whimpered. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I saw how he broke down every day, and how he ranted about Chloe... Chloe, Chloe Chloe." She yelled, tears escaping her eyes. "So we decided to come up with this plan, so I could have my Ricky back, and he could have his Chloe..." She said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"B- But the plan didn't work out as it was planned before" She said, uncontrollable sobs escaping her lips. "Nick freaked out, he totally freaked out. I never wanted this to happen, you have to believe me." She cried, and then she turned her head to face me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"If I knew that everything would turn out like this, I would never helped him. Nick totally freaked out, he even attacked me. His blood own sister." She cried, looking down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"So Kendall Vertes, to be completely clear... Is Nick Rowen guilty for the murder on Ricky Garcia's parents, as on everything else we mentioned before?" The judge said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kendall looked down and inhaled deeply. I saw how her hands balled up, making fists, and she took a deep breath. "Miss Vertes?" The judge asked once again. She looked up and pressed her lips on each other before talking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Y- Yes..." She whispered. "Can you repeat that louder, clearer, Miss Vertes?" The judge asked. She breathed in- and out and licked her lips. "Yes, yes my brother Nick is guilty of that all." She said, confidence shining on her face. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Everyone gasped and murmured things to each other. "Silence!" The judge called out, slamming his hammer against the wood. Everyone went silent again and  I tightly hold Chloes hand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kendall sat back down and now we could only hope that Nick got the punishment he actually deserves. The court held a pauze of thirty minutes where the judge was going to discuss the facts with other judges and the police, and finally he came back with the verdict. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"After discussing and debating, we finally have a final verdict." The judge said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Nick Rowen will be put in prison. for thirty-five years. He's allowed to have visitors once a month and needs to pay a mulct of 17,000 dollar. He also needs to go to therapy twice a week. Case closed." The judge said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Nick jumped up from the seat and started to scream unintelligent words towards the judge, Kendall and most of all at me. He ran up to me, "I'm going to fucking kill you!" He shouted, but he was held back quickly by three police men. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Chloe jumped into my arms, crying and smiling the same time. I held her in my arms and kissed her forehead, we won. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Finally he gets what he deserves" She cried, smiling from ear to ear. "I know" I whispered, kissing her on the lips. Then she hugged me, ever so tight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀While I was hugging Chloe, I opened my eyes and stared right into Kendall's eyes. "Thank you" I mouthed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
