We packed our things Thursday night after my match to get going Friday morning. It was only a three and a half hour drive to Orlando but we had to be there fairly early for a debriefing over how the competition will work. Afterwards, we planned on exploring Orlando a little bit since Katy has never been before although I've been there so much it's practically my second home. Still, I wanted this trip to be more about her since we both knew the real reason why we were there.

Before we left we made sure to drop by the bakery, by Katy's request, to make sure for the fifteenth time that Lamar was okay. Although she even hired a new temporary employee to help with things while we were gone, aka Violet, she still had that guilty look in her eyes when she left. I had to drag her out of there when she started to do some prep although I warned her not to. Once we left there we stopped by Mr. Phillips' place who was more than happy to see us.

"About time you two started acting less stiff around each other," he laughed. "What happened? Did you two finally have--?"

And that's when I gave Mr. Phillips the rest of my lemon squares which immediately distracted him.

On the road, Katy and I had our first fight over the radio although she won because it was her car so I suffered while she tried to give me Bieber fever. I seriously debated on jumping out onto the Turnpike and let other cars run me over for fun a few times. Luckily halfway through the trip, Katy was knocked out and I took over controls on the radio.

When we reached the hotel I gently woke her up and grabbed our things halfway debating on just slinging her over my shoulder and carrying her in as well. I've quickly learned that when she wakes up from naps it actually takes her awhile to actually be awake. But waking up from a long night's sleep? She was up and ready. I'll never understand.

When we walked up to the front desk to check in the lady behind the counter gave us our stuff along with our packet for the competition. The whole time she was beaming at us although her eyes kept drifting to my tattoos a bit warily. Nothing I wasn't used to, though.

"Your debriefing will be in Ballroom C in a few hours," she informed. "If you get lost there is a map inside your things or you could always come to the front desk. Your room is paid for two nights but if there is an emergency just let us know."

"Thanks," I grabbed the stuff from her and headed towards the elevator.

Our room was on the fifth floor near the end which I thought was kind of crappy but once inside I realized it had a nice view. So did Katy too apparently who had her face mashed up against the window.

"Oh! Look, Gage! You can see the princess castle from here!" she ogled.

"Cool," I replied although my attention was on the two separated full-size beds. I guess they didn't think the baking partners would like sharing the same bed so to save the awkwardness they did this instead.
