Oliver's POV
Three years earlier

"Ollie! Get up school starts soon." I groaned at the sound of my mom yelling at me. "Ollie get up and I mean NOW!" Yikes. Now don't get me wrong, I mean I love my mom and all but she is not someone to be messed with when she is angry. Rolling out of bed I walked over to my adjoining bathroom to do my business and take a quick shower before school. Finishing up I walked back into my room to get dressed. Slipping into my favourite pair of black skinny jeans and a red t-shirt that had the name of my favourite band on it, alpha and omega. Suddenly the smell of bacon filled my nose and my stomach started rumbling. Following the smell down to the kitchen, I was greeted by the sight of my mom frying bacon. "Good morning sweetie." She turned to face me with a smile and handed me a plate loaded with food. Sitting down at the counter I sighed in contentment as I stuffed my face with bacon. My mom is an amazing cook, but then again she does have to cook for a lot of people. Just as I finished my last bite of my amazing breakfast, my dad walked in. "Hey dad!" I smiled at him as I got up to leave. I was opening the door when my dad called out to me. "Oliver you haven't found your mate yet have you?" He asked hopeful. I sighed. Oh ya in case you haven't already guessed, I am a werewolf and an alpha's son at that. I was suddenly very interested in the ground as I softly shook my head. My dad frowned at my answer. "Oliver you are eighteen and the full moon is a month away and you have yet to find your mate." I looked down in shame. As an alpha's first and only child I was expected to find my mate by my eighteenth birthday, however my eighteenth birthday had come and gone and still no mate. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried and it seemed that my family was also starting to get concerned. "I know dad." I mumbled. He sighed before walking out of the room towards his office. I flinched at the sound of his door slamming. "I'm sorry." I whispered and my mom walked over and wrapped her arms around me. I'm also on the small side for an alpha. "It's alright baby boy. Sometimes it takes awhile to find your mate. Don't worry about your father he's just worried and doesn't know how to deal with it." She rubbed her hands on my back before releasing me and ushering me towards the door muttering something about how I was going to be late.  I smiled at her concern, then rushed out the door to my car. As I approached I scowled as I saw Landon and Russ waiting for me beside my car. They were the sons of Kyle, my father's beta and they loved to annoy me. "Hey alpha. I see that you still haven't found your mate." Landon, the older of the two, sneered while the younger, Russ, snickered. I wisely said nothing as I jumped into my car and pulled away from the pack house. I could still see them laughing in my rear view mirror though. I was ready to leave by the time I reached my school. This was my last year and for that I am grateful. The day was just as long and boring as I had anticipated. Standing at my locker putting my books away I was suddenly attacked from behind. Swinging around I wasn't even the least bit surprised to see that it was my best friend Kayla. She had been my best friend since grade 1 even though she was a year younger then me. "Kayla! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" I yelled, while she just grinned sheepishly at me. "Calm down Ollie. You won't believe what I got for my seventeenth birthday! Tickets for you and I to go see alpha and omega!" She squealed the last part loudly but everyone at our school was used to it so they didn't bother to pay her any mind, however my jaw dropped." A-are you serious!?" I gasped out. "Deadly serious. They are playing in Mountain Ridge in three weeks." I was ecstatic. I mean this WAS my favourite band. I threw my arms around her. " Thanks you're the best." I said still hugging her. She laughed. "I know."
The next few weeks were spent in anticipation. I couldn't wait. The morning of the concert I was up and dressed before eight. Grabbing my keys, I rushed out the door at exactly 8:30. Pulling into Kayla's driveway I wasn't surprised to see her already standing outside. My car hadn't even stopped before she hopped into the passenger seat. "Ready to go?" I questioned with a chuckle. She laughed. "Of course! This IS my favourite band of all time! The lead singer Luke Watson is drop dead gorgeous!" She gushed and I couldn't help but agree. I mean have you seen that guy? He's got a body anybody would want. The drive to Mountain Ridge, Colorado from our home in Srenton, Colorado was normally a long three hour drive, however the time seemed to pass by quickly as Kayla and I spent it talking about whatever came to our minds and singing along to the radio. We reached the field that the concert was being held in with time to spare. "Hurry up Ollie! I want to get a good spot." Kayla said practically dragging me to the front. Laughing I went along with her. Finally after getting a spot near the front and going along with Kayla to get a few souvenirs, the concert was about to begin. I stars in awe as Luke Watson and the rest of his band walked on stage. As I watched a sudden smell caught my attention. It was like nothing I'd ever smelled before. It smelled like chocolate and strawberries. As soon as I caught the scent my wolf, Lacen, went crazy. Then he burst out one word, mate.
