Louis reached up, standing on his tip-toes, in an attempt to reach the box of CDs on the top shelf of the cupboard. His boss had asked him to retrieve the box from the storage room, but Louis was having trouble, as he was just an inch too short to reach the box.
"Liam," he called out. Just seconds later, Louis' best friend walked into the room, a smirk on his face when he realized why he was called into the room.
"Having trouble are we?" Liam said, amusement laced in with his voice. Louis shot a glare his way, yet a small smile on his face, as he knew that Liam was just joking around with him.
"You know it's not my fault that I'm short," he muttered, before moving out of the way. Liam stood in the doorway of the small room, and crossed his arms, shaking his head at the Doncaster boy.
"I know, you can't help being a little midget," he said, a small chuckle escaping his lips.
Louis huffed, before grabbing Liam's arm, and yanking it hardly. Liam let out a small 'ow', before walking over to the shelf. He reached up and grabbed the cardboard box with ease, not even needing to stand on his tip-toes.
"Show off," Louis muttered quietly, although he was thankful that the job had been done. "But thanks, Li."
He took the box from Liam's hands, and walked out of the room, Liam right behind him. The two walked in silence, weaving through the CD filled shelves and the few people that were in the store. When Louis spotted Carl, his boss, he made a beeline towards him, and shoved the box right in his face.
"Thanks Lou, now mind putting the CDs on the shelves?" Carl said, while shoving the box back, playfully.
Carl was like a dad to Louis, him having lost his real dad and step-dad, and the two had a great relationship with each other. Louis let out a little sigh, but agreed nonetheless.
"Just put them on the shelf next to the window," Carl said, before turning around and heading to the cash register, where there was an middle-aged lady waiting to buy a handful of CDs.
Louis walked over to the shelf where he was supposed to place the CDs, and plopped the box on the floor gently, as he didn't want to break anything. He then kneeled down and started neatly arranging the CDs to fit on the shelf nicely.
Only a few minutes later, Louis had finished his task. He stood up slowly, and stretched his legs, then turned around, the window right in front of him. As soon as he glanced outside, he saw a boy with mop of curly hair standing outside of Baker's Dozen, the bakery across the mall from the store he was in. He was holding a tray of what looked like mini cupcakes, as he walked around, offering them to people.
Louis admired the way that the tall boy walked around confidently, with such a beautiful smile on his face. Louis had been staring at this boy for a few minutes now, but he was too captivated by his bright green eyes to look away. They were so gorgeous, and Louis wished that he could stare into them from up close. The blue-eyed boy wanted to run his hands through that beautiful curly hair, and poke at his adorable dimples whenever he wanted. He wanted to watch those plump pink lips as they spoke, and kiss them everyday.
Something about this boy intrigued him, even though they had never spoken. But he seemed like he had a story, and Louis wanted to be the one to learn about his past, and be a part of his future.
