The mothers didn't seem to want to relinquish their conversation, so you offered to take Greg out for a walk around the block. They hesitantly agreed, and you and Greg started off- after he donned a large jacket, of course.

"And that's how I know there are no monsters under my bed," he concluded his story as you two walked.

"Wow," you praised. "Th-th-that's some adventure."

"Yeah! Oh, and did you know that if you put only one sock in the dryer, it won't go missing?"

"No, I didn't," you replied.

"It's a rock fact!" he smiled. "My dad has been helping me make more rock facts."

"Oh really?" you inquired. "Any others?"

"Yeah! Did you know that every bridge has a troll? But no one knows because they don't come and tell riddles, they just want to hear you cross..." He continued giving you rock facts with an ever growing smile, and you listened, his smile infecting you.

By the time you'd circled the block twice and heard dozens of rock facts, the moms were now talking at the door frame. You had to go.

You gave Greg a great big hug and told him, "You come over any time, alright?"

He agreed and ran inside. You said goodbye to his mom and went home with yours.
