I still couldnt believe this was happening to me, not only have a been an orphan for only a short week but I am now standing on the balcony of our Miami condo I have called home for the past 10 years. The sight alone infront of me breaks my heart, I dont know much about Minnesota, but I know enough to know its not going to look anything like home. I took a minute to loose myself in the lights and noise of the Miami night life. The warm breeze and smell of the ocean brush across my skin, making me feel homesick before I have even left.

A knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. "Coming." With a final goodbye glance I turn and walk through our house, quickly grabbing my bags I make a bee line for the door. "Harmony, dear how are you?" I couldnt stop the tears the pricked my eyes, Jessie has been my moms boss and best friend for as long as I can remember, she is also my God-Mother and the only one I have left in Miami.

She wraps me up in a huge hug causing my heart to ache at the thought of leaving and not having her in my life either. "Come on, come on, lets get going, your on the red eye so its gonna be a long late flight." I nod at her and wipe my tears away as we make our way out to the taxi outside waiting for us. I couldnt help but shiver at the slight chill in the air. It is November and it will be getting chilly soon, maybe I should put some pants on, or atleast a jacket? Nah, it cant be to bad where ever it is I am going.

Six hours later I am still feeling like someone sent out a memo to everyone but me. I glance down at my self for probably the hundredth time sine I have gotten on my last plane of the night. Everyone around me had parkas, boots, and pants on, some ever had the marshmallow looking jackets on. I bit my lip to keep from laughing at a lady down the isle from me, 'I dont care how cold it is, i refuse to wear anything that makes me look like the dang Michelin Man."

As soon as I stepped off the plane I knew two things, one I am a complete idiot for not looking further into the weather for this state, my blue jean cut offs and tank top were not cutting it in this frozen snow blizzard.. which brings me to two..I was always told Hell was hot, but there must be a frozen part of it too, cause I am sure I just stepped into the middle of it! What kind of airport is this? I went rounds with the flight attendent that I was not going out the door until she hooked it up to the airport like the others did, she kept on until i felt myself cursing under my breath and walking down stairs off the airplane! WHO DOES THAT!?

Now that I am standing in the dark "airport" which from my point of veiw looks like a empty parking lot with a small cabin in the middle, maybe that was the actual air port, if so theres no way people actually flew in and out of here. Which just reassures me again that I am in a frozen hell. 'Get a move on before we look like Frosty the snow man!' I mentally kick myself and start at a job across the lot towards the beaconing light inside the small building, surely they do have heat? Before I could snort off a remark to myself I felt my flip flop catch on something slick and before I could scream I was sliding. "YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" I screech as I land on my butt and slide even further, I think my ass has frost bite now!

A low rumbling laughter catches my attention, the sound of the laugh makes me toes curl and my insides warm even in this bizarre weather. My eyes dart until they land on three guys standing a few yards away two of them were all but on the ground with me in laughter, but the other had stopped and was now eyeing me funny. "Whats so damn funny?" I bark out as I attempt to upright myself for the second time with no avail.

"You might want to consider getting you some real shoes and clothes." His voice was warm and made me shiver more then the snow falling on my half exposed body. "Thanks Ill be sure to make a note of it!" I snarled back rolling my eyes. Thankfully I managed to stand up and make a half decent escape with what little I had left of my pride.

By the time I reached the small building I was sure my toes and fingers were going to have to be cut off from frost bite. No i dont know anything about 'frostbite' except what I had seen on a movie once, I lived in Miami all my life well as long as i could remember. Our "cold weather" was at a low in the dang 60's. I slam the door behind me and turn to find six faces all staring at me like I had two heads and six legs. "I..iimm.maa Hh..ha..hhaarr.mm..ma..nny.yy.y" I stuttered out between chattering teeth. A woman came around the desk and wrapped her arms around me, though i didnt know her at this time I didnt care or think to pull back my body literally leaned into her. 'Ahhh warmth!'

'Wait what the hell!' The older woman jerked back from me, keeping her hands on my shoulder she looked me square on, "Harmony, have you lost your mind! You cant wear... that up here, this isn't the beach, oh by the way my name is Sue and I am your dads sister! How was your flight, you ready to get going, I bet your cold, you crazy beach junkies, ya dont own clothes that cover more of your body?" All i could do was shake my head and nod at all her questions as she hammered them on me. Normally I would have a smart response, but seeing as my teeth were still vibrating my brain loose in my head, i was focusing to hard on that then any come backs. To be continued, i thought to myself, as soon as I know I will still have ten fingers and toes left by the time we get to her house, I will tell her exactly what I think of this place... Its a Frozen HELL!
