"What do you think happened?" Louise's words jolted me out of my thoughts.

My bands were shifting between red and orange. "I don't know. I just really want to see Phil. And kill his mum."

Louise rolled her eyes. "Dan, you're going to go to jail for doing that."

"I don't care. She hurt Phil. And Phil is my friend. I'll do anything to protect my friends."

Louise looked at me. "Do you-"

She was cut short when the door to Phil's room opened and I jumped up. The doctor walked out. "What is the news?" I demanded.

He had a small smile on his face. "We've been notified that Phil will soon be able to walk.

A smile worked its way onto my face. "Can I go see him?" I asked, anxious to see Phil.

"Of course," the doctor replied.

I pushed open the door. Phil was sitting up, and I almost attacked him in a hug when I realized Phil had been injured. I went and sat next to him. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he replied, excitement obvious in his voice. "I can't wait 'till I can walk again. The doctor says I can in a few days."

I took his hand in mine. "I can't wait either."
