Louis was leaning against the counter of the CD shop, bopping his head to the music that was playing faintly in the background. He had been at the shop for almost four hours, and only two customers had come in. In the small shop, Louis didn't have much work to do, so he just spent most of his time listening to music that was coming from the speakers that were mounted on the ceiling.
A song had just finished and Louis' lips turned into a small smile as he recognized the song that had just came on. When the Ed started to sing, Louis quietly joined in, as nobody else was in the CD shop.
"Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive"
Louis closed his eyes, letting the music sweep him up into a different world, where everything seemed okay, as the beat took over his heart and soul.
"We keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
And time's forever frozen still"
Louis was too shy to sing in front of anyone, but in this moment he felt so powerful, with the music taking over him. But because he was so wrapped up in the music, he failed to notice the shop door open, nor did he hear someone approach him from behind.
"So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
And you won't even be alone
Wait for me to come home"
"Wow Louis, I didn't know you could sing!"
Louis' eyes flew open, as he turned to face the person whom had just spoke, but he turned too fast, causing him to lose his balance and fall onto the floor in a big heap. Louis groaned out in pain when he hit the floor, and rubbed his backside.
When he brushed the hair out of his eyes, he saw Liam bent over, clutching his stomach from laughing. The smaller boy noticed the big bruise on Liam's jaw right away, and immediately felt concerned and guilty, but Louis glared up at the boy nonetheless, who kept laughing until he realized that Louis wasn't joining in.
"You okay mate?" Liam asked, extending a hand towards Louis, to help him up. Louis ignored his hand and stood up, brushing off his pants.
"Peachy," he grumbled, before turning on his heel and heading to the back of the store, trying to find something to do to keep him from talking to Liam.
"If I had known you could sing that good, I wouldn't have joked about you being famous, because you actually could be. Louis, you have a great voice," Liam said, uneasiness filling him when Louis rolled his eyes. He didn't think that Louis would still be upset, but it seemed like he even angrier than the night before.
