"What now, Shi-chan?" Kenji hung around in the passenger seat.

The undertaker thought for a moment, as he followed the road with his eyes. "We need to examine the places where she could be."

"Great. Where is that supposed to be? We don't know her that well."

"She surely has more friends. We should ... You're a genius!"

Puzzled stared the fur carrier at his friend. "Oh yes?"

"Unbelievable that something useful comes out of your brain."

The fire-starter bared his teeth. "Hey!"

"We're going to Yoshiro's shelter. She had trained with him. There is her arsenal. There, no one will look for her, because virtually no one knows where it is."

"Do you know?"

"No," confessed the telepath.

"Neither do I."

"I know."

Shinji pulled his cell phone out of his jacket pocket and dialed Haruka's number. It took a moment before someone answered.

"Hello. She's not in the pension. I suspect that she is in Yoshiro's hideout. Do you know where that is?"

"It's a warehouse in the industrial district. I was never there, but he had mentioned it once or twice," said Haruka at the other end of the line.

"Okay. Maybe her power is not active, then I can track her," thought the undertaker out loud.

"Should I send you Nisha? Perhaps she can pick up her scent. The two have become friends."

Shinji shook his head. "We'll try on our own. I'll call you if we need your daughter."

"Good. I wish you success."

"Thank you." He hung up and put the phone back in the inside pocket of his jacket.

"Where are we going?" inquired the fire-starter.

"Industrial District. Yoshiro has ... had a warehouse there, which he used as a shelter."

Kenji snorted. "Luckily there are only about a hundred warehouses."

"If her power is not active, I can read her thoughts."

"And if not?"

Shinji shrugged. "Then we need to search for her."

"Are you stupid? That takes forever!"

The driver shrugged. "Do you have a better idea?"

"Maybe."

Kenji earned an amused glance from his friend. "You can't lie to a telepath."

"Fuck you, Shi-chan."

They drove to the industrial district and began systematically to patrol the streets. Shinji suppressed his power no longer and let all the voices inside his head. His skull boomed. He touched his temple.

Kenji noticed the tenseness of his companion. "Are you okay?"

"There are so many." He drove up to the left and stopped the car. "You have to drive. I need to be able to concentrate fully."

"Okay." They changed seats and Kenji drove on.

"I can't believe that I say this, but please don't think so much," Shinji asked his friend.
