My name is Olivia Greene. And I'm guessing that you're here to read this book. My book.
You've probably read the description and must have already made up an entire story of your own. A story about a lonely nerd being abused, who falls in love and everything is rainbows and unicorns; but that's not how life plays out because life is just...well...life's a bitch.
You know what the worst part of being abused is? No? Well, it's the betrayal. The one you expected to protect you is the one who turns out to harm you. Being manipulated into being something your not, even someone.
He stripped away my self-worth. Layer by layer, until there was nothing left of my personality. Yet, I never forget about the girl I used to be. She sat inside my caged soul, waiting for the day I set her free. Casting her into my dark mind, hoping that I would see flashes of a better life, glimpses of possibilities. I was never alone because she believed in me.
Deep down inside I'm still the same angel my mother used to see but the only difference is that this angels wings have been torn and all she needs is another angel to fix them.....and I did find someone eventually.
He was my angel. My saviour. My liberator.
How many times have you looked at someone and judged them on a single act they have committed. Oh come on, don't lie. I know each and every one of you reading this right now has done this. We all do, be it intentionally or unintentionally.
I always shiver at how easy it is to be totally wrong about people, to see one tiny part of them and confuse it for the whole. That's what people did to me. And that's what I did to him. Neel Taylor. The 'bad boy' who really wasn't that bad after all.
