The nurse spoke slowly and calmly,"Tyler's heart rate dropped during the surgery but we were able to get it back up, he is stable. You may go see him."
I thanked the nurse and pushed myself out of the chair, it was 10:00 pm, the survey was 12 hours long. I opened the door and sat down in a chair next to Tyler's bed, the nurse said he won't be awake for a while.
