"What you doing?"
"Boarding up the house."
"Well mine's is already up."
"Good! You better be safe because hurricane Matthew coming tonight."
"Yea I heard. He even bringing his baby mama Nicole."
"You real funny."He chuckled
"I try to be."I laughed.
"I gotta talk to you later. Love you."
"Love you too."I said hanging up.
"You guys got snacks for us during the hurricane."I asked as Nia, Ma, and dad as they came in with Wal-Mart bags.
"Not for you! Just for us. So you better not touch any of this food."Nia said.
"Whatever."I rolled my eyes.
"Roll yo eyes again."Ma yelled.
"Oh my gosh."I rolled my eyes.
"Go up to your room and give me your phone."
"What for? I pay the bill any way!"I yelled.
"Aurion! Give her the phone now!"Dad yelled.
"Here! I don't care."I said giving her the phone and going up stairs to my room.

I woke up to thundering and lightning. I guess hurricane Matthew is here.
I walk downstairs and go into the kitchen since I'm hungry.
I hear Nia talking with my parents and hear my name come up. I walk in the dining room and see her showing them something on my phone.
"Why does she have my phone?"I asked.
"When were you gonna tell us you out there sleeping around?"Ma said.
"What are you talking about?"I said highly confused.
"The guy you be texting on your phone. He so fine. Maybe I could snatch him up."Nia smirked.
I was so sick and tired of her so I went up to her and punched her in the face. She got up and punched me back and grabbed my hair. I pushed her into a wall hard and kicked her off of me. I started stomping her face in until dad grabbed me and slammed me into a wall.
He picked me up by the neck and through me on the floor. He kicked me in the face and blood spewed out my mouth.
I stood up and ma came up to me and slapped me in the face.
She grabbed my phone throwing it at the wall making it break.
"How dare you? I always knew you weren't apart of this family."She yelled.
"I told you not to get her."Dad said.
"What are you guys talking about?"I asked.
"Your adopted."Nia said standing up.
"You can't be serious."
"Yes we are and I want you out this house now. And I want you to never come back!"Dad yelled.
"But it's a hurricane outside."
"Get. Out. Now."He gritted out.
I ran upstairs and packed up my clothes and extra necessities. I only had one suitcase and a duffle bag because they never really bought me stuff.
I didn't want to see them, so I climbed out the window. I started running through the heavy rain and winds. I tripped over a rock and scraped my knee on the ground.
I screamed out in pain. I seen my knee all bloody because whatever I fell onto ripped my tights. I seen glass shards all over my knee. I looked around the dark night to see a broken beer bottle.
I started crying and got back up and limped to Lucas's house. I knocked on the door and he asked who it was.
"Aurion!"I yelled.
He opened the door letting me in.
"What are you doing outside?"
"Can you please take me to your room and I will explain everything."I grinded my teeth together in pain.
"What happened to your knee?"
"Lucas."I groaned leaning onto the wall.
He picked me up and carried me up to his room. He put me on his bed and went into his room. He came back out with a first aid kit. He turned on the light to his room and sat next to me.
"This is gonna hurt."He said placing my leg on his lap.
"I know."I said
He opened the first aid kit and took out the tweezers.
He took out the first piece of glass and I screamed in pain.
"Sorry baby."He said and then took the rest out.
"Ahhh!!!"I screamed as he put alcohol on it.
"Oh my gosh."I said as he cleaned my knee out.
"All finished."He said wrapping up my leg.
"Thank goodness."I signed in relief.
"Now who hurt you?"He said looking at my face.
"Me and my sister got into a fight."
"Nia."
"Yes and then my parents got mad so my dad...."I said looking at the floor.
"He did what?"Lucas said grabbing my chin and making me look at him.
"He choked me and kicked me in the face. I might have a bruise on my side because it hurts so bad from when he slammed me into the wall. And then my mom slapped me and broke my phone. I don't even know if I should call them my parents."
"Why is that?"
"Because I'm adopted and then they kicked me out."
"It's gonna be alright."He said hugging me.
"No it's not. I have no where to stay."I cried.
"You can stay with me."
"Really."I said shivering from the cold.
"How about you go take a shower and we will talk about where your gonna live?"He said.
"Thank you Lucas."I said standing up.
"It's ok Auri."He said pecking my lips.

"Your ready to talk now."Lucas asked as we cuddled together on his bed.
"Yea."I nodded.
"You can live with me."
"But don't your mom and siblings live here."I asked.
"Yea but I'm moving out since I'm 18."He said.
"And you want me to move in with you."
"Yes I do! We've been together for about 8 months."
"This is gonna be a big change."
"Yes it will but we would've moved together anyways."
"You really thought we were gonna make it that long."
"I know."
"Aww!!! Lulu."I said.
"Whatever."He said hugging me and I winced.
"You ok."
"I'm fine now that I'm with you."I smiled.
