"Happy birthday!" Jay's voice echoed around Louis' room. He groaned slightly, rolling out of bad, walking into the bathroom.

He washed his hair, changing before going down. "Happy birthday son." Jay says, Louis doesn't reply. He wasn't talking to his parents, after they told him the news yesterday.

"Louis, answer your mother." Troy says, causing Louis to take a bite of his sandwich before leaving the house, not caring about what his father's repetitive calls.

He arrived at school, Niall and Liam instantly launching themselves onto Louis, wishing him happy birthday. Louis just smiled softly before going to his locker and gathering his books for the day.

He almost jumped when he saw Harry as he closed his locker. Suddenly he was being pulled into Harry's chest, their bodies pressed together.

Harry presses a kiss to Louis' hair, whispering a soft "Happy birthday Lou."

Louis pulls away, muttering a quiet "thanks." Harry frowns "What's wrong?" Louis shaking his head, "Nothing". "Lou, it's your birthday, you're 18, why aren't you smiling." Harry asks, carefully placing his hands on Louis' hips.

"I-there's nothing wrong, I'm just a bit tired." Louis says, not wanting to tell Harry about what his parents said.

Harry was persistent though, "Louis, please be honest with me, what happened?" Harry asks, Louis letting out a sigh.

"It's just yesterday, my parents told me...." Louis looks down, not knowing how to phrase what he was going to say.

"In 13 days, I'll be attending Swiss boarding school." Louis says, eyes fixed on his shoes.

Harry's face drops, all emotion wiped off his face, eyes suddenly dull. For the first time, Harry sounds nervous.

"W-what?" He whispers out, eyes clearly concerned and saddened.

"My parents are sending me to boarding school in Switzerland." Louis says, looking up and meeting Harry's green orbs.

Harry gulps, "Run away." He whispers.

Louis shook his head "I already considered that, my dad would probably find me and I would just get in more trouble."

"If I be really obedient at this time maybe he'll consider cancelling it." Louis whispers, hope and hurt both in his eyes.

"L-lets just not think about it. Today's your birthday, we're meant to be happy." Harry whispers, trying to smile but it coming out as a grimace.

Louis just nods, trying to avert his thoughts from the topic of being away from Harry, away from his home.

In lunch, Louis decided to tell Liam, Niall and Zayn. Zayn and Liam frowned, hugging Louis, telling him that he'd be fine.

Niall shed a few tears, Louis did too. What was he meant to do, he grew up here, Niall and Louis were best friends since they were 13. They were always by each other, through hard and happy times.

Zayn noticed that Harry was quiet, he noticed that Harry wasn't himself, he didn't asked why though, he knew why.

Harry knew it was stupid, but he loved Louis. Sure, they only started talking three months ago but they were all amazing. Harry was himself with Louis, he was happy with Louis. He didn't tell Louis though, he didn't want to scare the smaller boy away.

Louis' birthday wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible. He got to spend it with the people that he loves, he just wished that he could say that he could spend all his birthdays with them.
