After many more conversations and stolen kisses, Harry finally worked up the courage to ask Ivy on a date, a real date.
"Ivy?" Harry voiced, he was slightly nervous. Despite the kisses and all the time they've spen together, they weren't an actual couple, so the possibility of Ivy turning him down was still there.
"Yes, Harold?" Ivy answered, followed by a grin at the use of the name 'Harold'.
"Will you," he paused, "go on a date with me?" He slowly finished, drawing out the words.
Ivy giggled, "Harry, I go on a date with you almost every day," she answered, honestly confused.
Harry felt embarrassed, he didn't want to talk after that, but he knew he had to say something.
"I- no... I mean on a real date...like I could maybe take you out to dinner or something?" He spoke, unsure of what her response would be. Maybe she'll think that we're moving too fast, and say no, or maybe she'll just laugh in my face and tell me it was stupid because we're always around each other. His mind raced with reasons of why she would say no, not one single thought was about why she would say yes.
"Oh," Ivy finally said, she felt stupid that she didn't understand what he was actually implying. "Oh," she repeated, after taking in the meaning of the words.
"You want to go on a date...with me?" She asked, dumbfounded as to why he'd want to go on a date with her.
"Yeah, I do." Harry sheepishly answered. Things were starting to get awkward now.
"Yeah, okay," she smiled, "I'll go on a date with you," she finished.
"Great. Now what else is there to do around here?" Harry asked her, trying to get off the subject as quickly as possible.
"What time is it?" Ivy questioned Harry, just now realizing he had a watch on his wrist.
"Um, it is," pause, "3:21," he informs her, adding a cheeky smile at the end.
"We should probably start heading back to the train station", Ivy says.
Harry agrees with her and as they both match their walking pace with each other, Harry intertwines his fingers with Ivy's. The gesture surprises Ivy but she loves the feeling of holding his hand. They walk for a couple of minutes in silence, just enjoying each others presence.
"So when are you taking me on this date?" Ivy asks, smiling at Harry. "You're not going to make me wait for the next rainy day are you?"
Harry laughs, and says "Not this time. With my luck it could be weeks before it rained next, so I am not going to take any chances. How about this Friday?"
"Fridays perfect," Ivy says, just as they reach the train station.
"Good," Harry grins. "It looks like we got here just in time," He says, looking at the time on his phone. He leans down and kisses Ivy once more before they get on the train back home.
