Is it really just a game?

"Get up Callie" my mom yells to let me know that it's time to wake up. I woke up to the smell of bacon and coffee.

Today is my first day going back to school since having mono. I got several texts asking "where are you?" and "are you okay?" from various people and it was great to know that people actually cared about me. I just had to tell people that I got a concussion and I couldn't leave my house. I hate lying especially to the people who care about me that most, but something like mono has to be hidden especially from Blake or even Ellie and Nicole.
They couldn't find out especially because I would be called a slut and Blake might never trust me again.

I was stupid to think that Blake was with other girls doing things because I ended up doing stupid things including getting mono from my best friend's brother. Thankfully it's Friday so I don't have to hear shit from anyone. I'm happy because the Football team doesn't have a game today so my friends and I planned to hang out.

School had been so stressful with everything going on. I knew Junior year was super hard but not this hard. This year there is supposed to be a lot including SAT's and ring. I know I should be focused but with these all these distractions, it's really hard to concentrate.

"Good morning best friend" Mason says as I'm getting into the car. "Good morning to you too" "to be honest I missed coming here to pick you up every morning" "ha me too but I had a bad headache this whole week" "oh yeah, how did you get a concussion anyway?" "I got hit in the head by Dylan, yeah he dropped something and it hit my head" I said lying. "Well I hope you feel better" thanks" I said grabbing his hand and squeezing it tightly. "So are you excited that we all get to hang out tonight?" "Yeah I missed everyone" "yeah and this is our 1st time doing this since the whole break up situation" "yeah, I still feel so bad about it" "don't, just focus on the present, it was just a mistake" "a mistake that costed me a friend" "well are you happy nowadays?" "Well yeah" "so maybe there was some pressure taken off of you" "maybe but I still want him back as a friend" "Callie I would just give up on him, like he gave up on the rest of us" he said getting out of the car as he Parked the car. "Yeah I just don't know" "don't worry about him. Just worry about you" "thanks" I said squeezing his hand again and then letting it go.

I walked up to my locker when Lily, Julia , and Alex walked up to me. "Hey girlie, feeling better" Alex said flashing a smile. "Eh my head still hurts but I'm better than I've been" "good to hear" "yeah" "so have you talked to your boyfriend?" Lily asked with a concerned look on her face. "Yeah why?" "Well Michael told me that something happened at the party" "well did Mike also tell you that he was letting Molly Schmidt give him a lap dance and Ellie was giving my boyfriend a lap dance along with the other cheerleaders except the ones who can respect others or have a boyfriend" "no but why would that concern me?" "Oh shut up, you know you and Mike are clearly a thing" "yeah and I saw you two getting touchy-feely in chemistry" Julia added "oh chemistry in chemistry" I said starting to laugh "shut up you two, we're just flirting but it's friendly flirting" "yeah and what does that mean?" Alex asked "just joking around" "you forgot the touching each other part" Julia said "oh yeah and don't think we don't see those looks you give each other" I added "I'm leaving" Lily said walking away. "Are you going to talk to Michael?" I  laughed "yeah, I actually am and Julia's coming with me" she said speed walking off grabbing Julia's arm and dragging her.

"So are you seriously okay with the whole Blake thing?" Alex asked "yeah" "it doesn't seem okay" "it's not, he made a promise to me and broke it" "what promise?" "We said we wouldn't leave each other at the party and he left me to get drunk and party with the cheer girl. "Damn are you sure you trust him?" "yeah, but that's why I haven't talked to him" "makes sense" "At least Austin is loyal and he's changed" "yeah but it just feels different dating him rather then just being friends with him, you know?" "Yeah, I only planned on only being friends with Blake and look what happened" "well you should be happy that your together, right?" "I am" I said as my voice cracked randomly "Wait Callie, you don't want to...." She said and the bell rang "gotta go" I said completely ignoring what she was gonna ask.
