With the exception of last night, the whole previous week Krystal was unable to sleep. Not even for a nap and she had tried everything; sleeping while holding my hand, in my bed, in hers, the van, backstage. But every time she closed her eyes, a few minutes later she'd sit up straight and shake the sleepy feeling away.
And I knew it too, so I'd help her stay awake. I didn't get much rest but so long as she was okay, so was I. We played games and told jokes with the other members, all of whom were also aware of the fact that she had a hard time sleeping.
Though nobody but me knew what the dreams were about.
We'd made prank phone calls and make bets: three weekends back, Krys and I bet that if we won the trophy of our upcoming music show I'd give her a piggy back ride on stage. If we lost, she'd give
a piggy back ride. Little things like that.
But for now were now totally done with promotions and had about two weeks till we had another fully scheduled day. I sometimes forget, so I'll wake up all early at 4:20 and get showered and dressed then go into Vic and Luna's room and shake them awake and then get yelled at because we had no schedule for the day.
....and by 'sometimes forget' I meant 'today I forgot'.
I closed the door to their room and laughed to myself, tiptoeing back to the living room. Krystal fell asleep about seven hours ago after a long bath and lullaby from me, Sulli took advantage of the music to lull herself to sleep as well. The house was completely silent except for the creaking noise of that step on the wooden floor right before the kitchen.
I turned the stove on and felt my phone vibrate, so I looked at the caller ID as I had an incoming call. I touched 'speak' and pressed it against my ear while I got breakfast going.
"Hey Joshy!" I said happily, pulling out the eggs and bacon I asked the girls to bring yesterday out of the fridge.
"Llama llama." he replied seriously.
"What are you up to?" I asked, turning the other half of the stove on and placing a skillet on the flames.
"I'm having lunch with Dylan! Say hi Dylan—"
I laughed as I heard another old friend of mine Dylan's muffled voice, "hi Dylan" he said with a laugh.
"You still talk to him?" I asked in surprise.
"'Course I do. What's up with you?" Josh was back on the phone.
"Hold on man, I'm gonna put you on speaker I'm making breakfast!" I pulled my phone away and placed it on the counter, activating the speaker on it.
"—making breakfast it's like five in the morning over there isn't it?!" I heard him complain.
"You forget the part where I'm up at like four every day." I replied, cracking five eggs in to a bowl and pulling a fork out before whisking them together.
"So listen Amber, Jen and I have a favor to ask?" I lowered an eyebrow at his nervous tone while I whisked.
"I'm listening," I replied, pouring the eggs into the skillet and opening the pack of bacon with a knife.
"Can you take a day off to come be in our wedding next April?"
I looked at my phone with wide eyes and dropped the knife, running to it.
"You're getting married?! Oh my god, Josh! Dude, Jesus Christ how did you ask her?!" I picked the phone up and walked around the kitchen with it then back to the stove.
