It was one of those Thursdays.

Yup, it was one of those Thursdays where I practically begged my brother not to throw another one of his annoying parties on the next day.

I hated these Thursdays. I hated them with a burning passion because I knew that all of my begging and pleading wouldn't get me anywhere.

"But Logan," I groaned as I got out of his car. "Why this weekend?" I whined.

He shrugged. "Why not this weekend?" he asked, raising his eyebrow. I grumbled to myself. "That's what I thought," he said as he locked the car.

I sighed. "But all of your basketball friends just stand around and insult me."

"Then ignore them."

"Did I mention they are usually as drunk as hell and smell terrible?"

"Then go up to your room."

"But then people try to get into my room," I pointed out.

"Then lock the door, smart one," he said, sounding aggitated.

"But then I'll be locked in my room all night!"

"Well that sucks for you, Lilah! Now leave me alone!" he shouted before storming into the school.

"UGH!" I groaned as I crossed my arms over my chest and began walking towards the building as well.

Before I knew it, an arm was suddenly slung over my shoulder. I looked up to see Carter grinning down at me. "Hey Lilah, why so glum?" he asked as if we were life long friends.

"Well, for one, your arm is crushing me," I said as I pushed it off.

He smirked. "Why thank you," I rolled my eyes.

"Idiot," Devon said quietly beside us and I laughed.

"I heard that!" Carter said as he punched Devon in the arm. I winced but Devon didn't even flinch. "Seriously though, why so glum?" he asked again.

"Who says 'glum'?" Reece now asked, walking up on the other side of me. I frowned. I wonder what he was going to make me do. Whatever it was, I wasn't looking forward to it.

"I do," Carter said before nudging me. "Now come on, Lilah. Do tell."

"You talk weird," Reece said as he gave Carter a weird look.

"Shut up," Carter said still looking at me.

"It's nothing really. My brother is throwing a party this weekend and I'm not really looking forward to it," I told them.

"Sounds like fun to me," Carter said. I rolled my eyes. Of course it did.

"Yeah, maybe we'll come," Reece said mischievously beside me. Oh no.

"B-but you never come to Logan's parties," I said nervously.

He shrugged. "I guess I'm just in the mood for some fun," he said as he grinned evilly.

"Well too bad. You're not invited," I said as I stuck my nose up in the air.

He snorted. "Like that'll stop me," he said before walking away.

I sighed. "This is because I beat you at that eating contest, isn't it?!" I shouted. He sent one last glare at me while Carter started cracking up.

"I can't believe you did that. You fatty," Carter said, still cracking up.

I froze. Just shake it off, shake it off. I told myself.
