CHAPTER 39

I woke up trying to clear my vision. It was a bit blurry but I know I'm being surrounded by uhh-I don't know, everything's white.

"When will they wake up? It's been almost four days!" I heard someone shouting.

Uhh, wait, where am I and who's that? What the hell is going on? I tried to open my eyes once more but everything's still blurry.

"Mrs. Buenavista, their vitals are stable now. Ang hindi ko lang po kayang bigyan ng kasiguraduhan ay kung kelan sila magkakamalay. But everything's fine now. The baby's safe."

That got my attention. I moved my head at the side and then I saw blurred figures. I tried to call them but I felt a lump in my throat. Water, I need water. I tried to voice it out but I failed.

"Thank goodness." Mom?

"U-uhm" I groaned. At last! I found my tiny voice. I closed my eyes again and then I felt someone touched my hand.

"Maxine, anak!" Oh my.. it's mom! Why is she crying tho? And.. where am I? I closed my eyes and tried to remember what hap- OH SHIT!

"Baby, are you okay?" I opened my eyes and saw my mother's worried face.

"Excuse me, I have to check her." Says someone.. uhm, a doctor, I guess?

Naramdaman ko ang ginawang pacheck sakin ng doktor. Matapos nya akong tignan, sinabi naman nya na okay ako.

"W-water." Sabi ko kay mama na kumaripas ng takbo upang ikuha ako ng tubig.

"Baby, are you alright?" Tanong nya sakin habang iniinom ko ang tubig. Tumango lang ako bilang sagot.

"Thank God at okay kayo ni Dylan. Don't worry anak, your baby's safe too." aniya habang hinahaplos ang tyan ko.

I stiffened and starred at her. "B-baby?"

"Oh my.. you didn't know yet?" Alinlangang tanong ni mommy. Hindi ako agad nakasagot dahil hindi ko naman talaga alam ang nangyayari. Naramdaman kong niyakap ako ni mommy. "You're six weeks pregnant." Bulong niya sakin habang niyayakap ako.

My jaw dropped. I'm pregnant? "M-mommy.."

                                                    

Six weeks pegnant and yet I didn't know? Pero pano? There were no signs at all. At isa pa.. of course, hindi ako dinatnan.. pero kasi irregular ako kaya hindi ko alam, hindi ko to ineexpect. Why won't I expect it nag naman, diba? Lagi namin yun ginagawa and walang protection.

"Shh, baby, everything's gonna be fine." Pakiramdam ko ay secured ako sa ginagawang yakap at haplos sakin ni mommy.
