Chapter 7

•Enoch•

I woke up with Katelyn in my arms, she was so warm and peaceful. Slowly I pulled her closer and kissed her cheek, her eyes fluttered open and a smile formed on her face.

"Good morning sleeping beauty." I whispered.

"Good morning my prince." She giggled. I sat up stretching, then I thought to myself 'Katelyn said she can't really die, I wonder what she meant by that.'

'I have self regeneration, I can heal myself.'

My mouth dropped open, not because she read my mind again but that she can heal herself.

"You can heal yourself?" She nodded and opened a drawer, bring out a pair of scissors. She took them and ran it down her arm, a few seconds later the cut healed. "Wow." I said.

I guess it's kinda cool... it's saved me a couple times, back when I was locked away with the wights. I was, attacked by a hollow, i remember like it was yesterday. The pain in my eye sockets, the fear of not being able to see. But then it was over, just like that, I could see and there was no pain. Just only if Lucas had it..."

I pulled her a hug, "it's ok, he's in a better place now. I don't know how it feels to be you, I don't know exactly what you've been through, but I do know it's all going to be ok."

She smiled and looked up at me, she leaned in and I gave her a quick kiss. We got up and went out the door holding hands, outside the door was Hugh, Horace, and Millard.

"I saw this coming." Horace snickered while giving Enoch a wink. Enoch's face turned slightly red and he rolled his eyes. We ate breakfast quickly, after we were done Emma walked up to me.

"I'm sorry for what I said Enoch, I didn't think Olive would do that."

"It's okay I forgive you. So what would you girls like to do today?" I asked.

"I don't know," Katelyn began "can we go out the the flower garden and just talk?"

"That sounds fine to me." Emma replied.

"I'll do anything you want to do Katelyn." I winked. Her face turned red as we walked out into the sunshine.

"So... what have you guys been doing lately when your alone, huh huh?" Emma asked with a sly smile on her face. Both our faces turned red.

"Just so you know we haven't done anything too bad ok?" I told her

"Uh huh sure you haven't." She winked at us causing Katelyn's face to turn a brighter red.

"What's the worst you've done so far?"  She asked, still with that evil look on her face.

"Well we've kissed a couple times and I've stayed in her bed once or twi-"

"You guys slept in the same bed!" Her eyes widened.

"No no not like that! I was just trying to comfort her!"

Emma laughed, "it's ok your secret is safe with me." She was about to say something else when Miss Peregrine came outside and called all the children to come inside.

"What do you think it wrong?" Katelyn asked looking worried. I took her hand.

"I bet it's nothing."

When we walked inside there was a new boy I've never seen before, he turned around and Emma gasped.

"Abe?" She asked.

"I'm sorry I'm not Abe, I'm his grandson, Jacob." The boy replied, sympathy in his eyes.

"Grandson..." she whispered tears threatening to fall. Katelyn hugged Emma.

"It's ok." she whispered to her, "it's all going to be f-"

"Children I need you all to pack your bags but pack lightly there's a wight on the island and we think he's brought a hollow with him." Miss Peregrine said urgently. We all ran to our rooms, I packed a couple outfits two pairs of shoes and my secret teddy bear. Lucas gave it to me on my seventh birthday.

We all met in the hall, then we went down stairs to where Jacob and Miss Peregrine were, they weren't there.

"Miss P!" Millard shouted, "Jacob! Where are you two!"

"Don't fret little children they will be fine as long as you do what I say." Came an eerie evil voice. We all turned around to see a man with white eyes holding Miss Peregrine at gun point and Jacob on the ground, a cut on his forehead. I studied the man for a moment then gasped trying to hide myself from him. He chuckled, "do you really think I didn't notice you Katelyn?"

•Katelyn•

I was lifted into the air by an invisible creature, the hollow. I took me over to the wight and threw me down. The wight turned the gun to me.

"Long time no see aye? Katelyn."

"Please Mr Adams please don't hurt anyone... please."

"And why shouldn't I? You and your terrible brother have killed many of my kind and many hollows. Why shouldn't I get revenge on you, since your brother has already got his pay. I bet that hollow had a nice meal munching on his ey-"

"Shut up! Shut up!"  I screamed tears running down my cheeks. He laughed, it made my skin crawl.

"What should I? He got what he deserved, how many wights did he kill? Seven? Eight? And then there's the hollows, about three. Yep the hollow that killed him was lucky, it was the last peculiar eyes he needed must've-"

"Leave her alone and shut up!" Yelled Enoch stepping forward a bit.

Mr Adams looked at me then back a Enoch "awe is this your little boyfriend Katie? How adorable, he pointed the gun at Enoch, "say goodbye."

There was a gun shot.

I closed my eyes.

I waited to hear his lifeless body hit the ground.

I heard someone fall but it sounded too heavy and close to be Enoch's.

I opened my eyes to see back blood on the floor and a horrid screech.

'Did Mr Adams shoot the hollow? No no no he wouldn't have then what-'

Mr Adams grabbed my arm and pulled me up the stairs he stopped half way, the gun against my temple.

"If any of you move I will shoot her!" Everyone stayed still as he pulled me up the rest of the way. I looked back to see Enoch, tears rolling down his face.

Mr Adams walked me down the hall, a base that was sitting on a table fell off and shattered. He jerked the gun the the vase and shot. There was nothing there, we heard the roof creaked and he turned to see Emma  floating on the ceiling, she gasped.

"That's it I warned you." But before he could take his aim there was another gun shot and Mr Adams fell to the ground. I turned around to see a boy, at first I thought it was Enoch or Jacob, but this boy was older and had light brown hair and hazel eyes. My heart stopped.

"Lucas?"

A/n I know I know it's a wth ending to a chapter, I will try as hard as I can to post another chapter today, and I know I've said that many times and it never happened and I'm sorry. Thanks for reading I hope you like it, see you in the next chapter.
