Josh couldn't comprehend it, he just didn't want to believe it. How was it even possible that something so precious could be gone without a care? It didn't make sense. He remembered the sudden terror and realisation of the situation, how he had thought nothing like this could ever happen, to himself or his friends. How he had felt immortal up to this point. All other feelings had dwindled down to dust now, only sadness and grief and pain remained.
He put his head in his hands, as he sat outside the hospital doors, and allowed the first of many tears to escape through his eyes.
