As I waited, still feeling like utter crap, I gently brushed the eye pods with my shaking fingers. Their cool, smooth covering almost soothed me. The statue had positioned itself infront of the door, scaring off any SCPs that tried to look in.

It's been a while since 049 left and I couldn't say I wasn't worried. I slowly raised my head, wiping more of the black blood that had started coming out of my nose. It seemed like my body was doing everything it could to get rid of what ever that thing tried to do. I took a shaky step, using the wall for balance.

The eyepods went their way in front of me as to guide me along the wall. The statue turned to face me, as my head was to the ground watching where I stepped. I waved the statue off. "I-I'm--" a gush of black blood forced itself up my throat as soon as my scratchy voice made its way out. I coughed for a second and wiped my mouth. "F-fine, just trying to walk." I managed out. I looked up to see it facing away again.

I released a breath that I didn't know I was holding and took a small step forward. What ever that thing did was horrible. I took some more steps till I reached corner, then turned. This was exhausting.

I finally made it to the door, peeking out into the pitch black halls. I felt a shiver run through me.

I really don't want to go out there.

Damn, I want to go home.

I looked at my hands, the tips of my fingernails were black. I mustered up all the courage left inside me and took a step.

Only to be held back by 173.

"H-huh?"

I stared at the freaky statue.

"I need to find 0-049."

I explained. Nothing. Nothing showed the thing even heard me. I sighed and closed my eyes, letting it drop my with a small thump.

049's POV

I slightly cursed to myself.

"Where is that cafeteria?"

I hissed quietly, the halls seems to loom on as I tried to find the cafeteria. As far as I can tell I've been lost for about 10 minutes.

I know where the cell is, two lefts after the staircase and a right before an office.

3042 was located in the north wing, there were signs that showed which wing we were in which was handy as i searched.

I made another turn, marking it in my head and walking again.

I recognize these places.

There were a few offices, some had labels that I recognized a few names on. The others were torn off and laying a few feet away from the doors.

Sure enough, the cafeterias doors came into view.

I though I saw something slip into the hall and had my hand in front of me, ready to kill what ever had entered.

To my surprise, it was a guard. A small grin worked its way onto my face as I saw he lost his tranquilizer.

The bulky man turned to face me, a horrified expression on his face as he instinctively reached for the gun, only to find it was missing. "S-stay the hell away from me!" I only walked forward. "Don't worry, I'm a doctor."

I placed my hands up to his neck and watched him fall to the ground. I completely forgot about my task as I began to operate on him. He soon rises as a mindless creature.

I forgot how great that felt.

I realized how long I had taken and quickly scrambled to find something, anything, for the wounded (y/g) to eat.

I eventually found some "ramen noodles" and a few water bottles. I took them and went on my leave.

As I walked back something caught my eyes. It was nearby y/n's cell, it was an office at the end of the hall, like any other block.

I walked inside the cramped room and looked out the singular window. There were bright lights decorating the tops of the building.

Christmas lights, how pretty.

A small smile formed on my face as I walked back to the cell.

As I had asked, 173 was watching for any SCPs. I nodded to him and walking in. Y/n was on their bed and facing away, they were scribbling on the wall.

I gently placed my hand on their shoulder, careful not to put them to sleep.

"Y/n."

I spoke softly. They slowly turned around, they had more color in their flesh and look a lot better.

"049, you took a while."

They replied in the same tone.

"I found something."

I took their hand and gently pulled them to their feet, allowing them to lean against me as I walked towards the office with the Christmas lights.

As soon as y/n saw the lights their (e/c) eyes brightened greatly. They watched as the lights blinked, flashed, or switched colours. I smiled at their wonder.

"Thank you, 049. Thank you for showing me these....it reminds me of home."

I hardly caught the last bit.

I nodded and took their hand. They took one last look at the lights before tugging me to stop.

"It's snowing."

They said. I looked out, and sure enough, small flecks of snow were slowly falling. The lights hit the small flakes, turning them festive colours.

"It's very pretty."

I commented. They nodded, smiling before taking my hand and making their way back to the cell.

I smiled softly at her and followed her, more guiding her away from walls than following but it was similar. When we reached the room, 173 was gone.

I let out a silent sigh but said nothing.

"There's those noodle things and water."

I said, gesturing with my mask to the table. They nodded and picked up a package, tearing it open and taking a bite of the chunk.

"They're better dry."

1005 words.

This is soooo late omfg I'm so sorry it kept getting deleted and ugh I'm sorry. I didn't know what to do for Christmas so I just added that small moment of fluff. Sorry.
