Liesel clung on to the sides of her seat as he drove along the small single lane back roads. He had always talked about purchasing a place far away from the hustle and bustle of London...or any major city for that matter. Liesel kept her silence as he took the winding roads at breakneck speeds, trying to beat the heavy snows that were on their way. Laurie had begged him to apparate to the house, but he wanted Liesel to get the full effect of the Christmas decorations that he had spent over two weeks putting up for her enjoyment...the exterior of the house was only the beginning...

When they were about a mile away from the property, they were moving at a snails' pace; Sirius was unable to make out the road clearly and he squinted through the small sheet of glass protecting them from the heavily falling snow as the wipers moved furiously. He was glad that John had suggested that they take along a knitted afghan to keep warm with...his hands and feet were freezing as he told her to wrap up in it...Clearly, her tiny car wasn't made for the harsh weather that they were currently faced with...Why had he insisted on doing things his way? And why had Liesel gone along with it? She had stood up to him before! Why didn't she now?

He realized he was driving along his property and that he had missed the entrance to the driveway, which caused her to giggle...he could only cut his eyes with aggravation as he put the car in reverse and stomped on the accelerator, put the car in first gear and turned into the drive way. They both felt the magical proximity line as he drove the car through it...he'd spent the past two months as well as a small fortune getting the house put together for her, only having people over to help put the final touches on it. There were only two rooms that still had yet to be decorated: the nursery...there were only the dark hardwood floors and white paint on the plaster walls: it was a completely blank canvas...if that didn't scream marry me, then he didn't know what would...Laurie thought that it was a nice touch.

Finally a dark mammoth structure came into view and Liesel looked hard to see through the snow and he stopped the car midway in the driveway and exited the car. She saw him point his wand and wave it in a exaggerated flourishing motion, causing the entire house to light up instantaneously and she exited the car and stared at it through the falling snow. He saw her breathe in deeply and watched her expression with hope, but there didn't seem to be one on her face and her body language offered no clue as to what she was thinking. She began walking toward it and he moved to follow her and then thought he ought to move the car to the garage that was situated behind the house. He got into the car and eased up next to her.

"Bobbie, get in...we'll drive the rest of the way."

She shook her head and pulled the knitted afghan around her shoulders even tighter.

He decided to drive the car behind her, the lamps of the car lighting her way. When it came time to make a final decision on whether to follow her to the front of the house, or park the car in the garage, he stopped again and got out of the car; the wind howled in his ears...there was no way that she was going to be able to hear him, but he knew he needed to try anyway. "BOBBIE! COME ON WITH ME, NOW! I NEED TO PARK THE CAR! BOBBIE! LIESEL RHODES-MOODY! DAMN IT WOMAN!" He climbed back into the car and had an idea, then got out of the car again and removed his wand from the inside pocket of his coat and pointed it, but he realized that he had lost sight of her. In a panic he ran to the area where he saw her last and looked for tracks, but the freshly fallen snow had already covered them and he felt his heart pound in his chest...it was louder than the wind...He had lost her in the white-out!

In a near panic, he cast a show-me spell and then he saw a glowing aura illuminating a dark silhouette on the large porch, looking into the windows and he breathed a sigh of relief and he disapparated for her and he circled his arms around her from behind...why hadn't he thought to look toward the house? "I want you to stay here," he said in a low voice. "I'll be right back. I need to park the car in the garage, or we're not going to be able to move it for a month at the rate this is going. Alright?"
