It had been a week since Joséphine had seen the enigmatic grey eyed boy at the welcoming feast. It had also been a week since James Potter abruptly left the great hall after her revealing the knowledge of eachother and had ignored her since.

Not that she minded, she was fond of quietness and drama just wasn't her forté.

As she wondered the halls aimlessly she thought of ways she could ask James Potter to help her break the engagement. He acted as if he was the only one being forced into it, as if he was the only one without a say.

Her mind reluctantly fixated on the grey eyed boy from the dinner, he had followed James from the great hall, prompting Josephine to believe he was the best friend.

She didn't know why she thought of him, his behaviour was less than gentlemanly. But she couldn't help it, and the next Josephine saw of Sirius Black was the first Sunday she ever spent on Hogwarts soil. She was excited, presumably more than the other students who would rather stay in and sleep than explore the grounds as she did. That is, what Josephine assumed when everywhere she went was almost deserted.

She had seen the boat houses, twice. Been to the Quidditch grounds and explored the stands. She even had a chance encounter with the friendly gamekeeper who lived in a small hut on the outskirts of the forbidden forest.

He was a charming fellow who introduced himself as Hagrid and left her with an invite for tea and rock cakes as well as a warning to stay out of the Forbidden forest, not that Josephine needed any more incentive after seeing how scary it was up close.

The last destination on her adventure was the astronomy tower. It was the tallest tower at Hogwarts and Lily and the others told Josephine that it had the best view anyone could have ever seen.

Ascending the stairs she made sure to keep an eye out for anyone in case she would get in trouble. When she reached the top she stood in awe at the large bronze masterpiece in the centre of the room. It seemed to be a globe figure of earth surrounded by circles but Josephine thought it looked an awful lot like a time turner.

Gently running her fingers over the outside circle she wondered what was holding it up seeing as it didn't seem to have a bottom. It took Josephine a few minutes to realize it must have been magic. It was always magic.

"What are you doing?"

Josephine jumped when the voice came out of nowhere. Turning around she came face to face with Loretta Lovehart, the seventh year Ravenclaw with bright pale hair and a whimsical voice.

"Oh I-" Josephine stammered before being cut off by the airy voice once again.

"Students aren't meant to be in here other than for classes. Be beware of the Nargles." And before Josephine could respond Loretta was already trailing down the steps that led to the entrance of the school.

"Don't mind her, she's special." A new, much deeper voice spoke up.

Swinging around once more, Josephine was met with the sparkling grey eyes of Sirius Black.

"What are you doing here?" her voice squeaked.

"I could ask you the same thing sweetheart." Sirius rose an eyebrow as he slowly walked towards Josephine. "You shouldn't be sticking your nose where it doesn't belong."

"What on Earth do you mean?" Josephine stuttered, as she moved away from the boy.

Only Sirius wasn't having any of that, he stalked closer to the girl as if he were a Lion stalking his prey, revelling in the nervous look that was painted across  her delicate features.

"Why are you up here Josephine?" Sirius purred, stopping when Josephine was up against a wall with no room to move.

An involuntary shiver ran down Josephine's body at the way Sirius had said her name, he said it sensually as if it were his most treasured secret and was only sharing it with her.

She found she didn't like it.

She had gotten the run-down from her friends about the infamous Sirius Black and how he was the resident player of Hogwarts.

Apparently he found just as much joy in playing with girls hearts off the field as he did playing with a quaffle on the field. Only, Josephine refused to become another notch under his belt.

She was temporarily engaged to his best friend for Christ sake she had way bigger fish to fry then some silly boy who had no regards for the female population unless he wanted to find his way up a girls skirt.

"How is it any of your business?" Josephine steeled herself, not willing to back down no matter how intimidating he was.

"Well little bird," Sirius smirked, wrapping his finger around one of her soft curls. "I make it my business to know what my next conquest is up to. I need to make sure no one tries to lay claim to what is mine."

Josephine felt her heart beat faster at that, and not because his words made her knees weak or anything. No, his words made her feel anger she had never felt before.

She was a usually calm person, her mother had taught her from a young age that being in control of your emotions was how you controlled a situation and all that training went out the window at Sirius' arrogant words.

"Connard!" Josephine shrieked, pushing at Sirius's impossibly hard chest causing him too stumble back but she wasn't finished, Josephine wasn't much of a swearer nor a violent person, but in that moment she could have strangled Sirius if she was strong enough.

"Vous êtes vraiment un parfait salaud" Josephine yelled, wondering if she would get caught if she were to hex the arrogant boy in to oblivion. They couldn't prove she did it right?

"Speak English woman!" Sirius attempted to yell over the teens rapid French, liking the way he successfully riled her up. He had followed her on the Marauders map, figuring the Astronomy tower would be the best place to have a little fun.

He heard French girls were some of the easiest in Europe, now he just had to put that to the test.

"You want English?" Josephine raised an arched brow. "How about Fuck. off."

Accentuating each swear clearly so Sirius couldn't possibly mistake her stance on his stupid comment, Josephine raised her leg and just as quickly slammed it back down so the heel of her shoe made harsh contact with Sirius' foot.

"AH FUCK ME!" he screamed, instantly raising his foot in an attempt to massage the pain away, this was not how he expected this to go, He thought there would be more undressing and less stomping on feet with vengeance.

Stalking off, but not before bumping shoulders with the grey-eyed teen- Josephine threw one more jab at Sirius in her native tongue before she left the room, knowing she would inevitably regret her behaviour later and wanting the teen to be clear that she wanted nothing to do with him.

"Brûle en l'enfer!"
