Chapter 10- He's Scared?

You come back to reality from your deep thoughts as Jimin snaps his fingers in front of you. 

"What were you thinking? I called you three times" he says, eyeing you cautiously. 

"N-nothing" you stutter and get back to searching for the second beat through various folders in your computer. 

Where the heck did you save that thing?

"I like the lyrics" he blurts out. 

​​​​​​You turn to look at him shocked. You weren't expecting this kind of reaction from him. You expected some teasing about the cheesy lyrics or even some negative comments from his prospective, literary anything other than him saying he actually likes the lyrics. 

"Are you serious?" you ask

"Yes, what's wrong with you? Did you hit your head anywhere?" he asks making an irritated face. 

"Are you okay? You're being nice to me and something smells fishy to me" you respond spitting out a question you've been wanting to ask. 

"Don't get used to it. I'm just too tired to be mean" he nonchalantly says. 

"Why don't you go back to sleep then?" you ask getting irritated. 

You wait for Jimin's response but you get non.

Why doesn't he go to sleep?

You're sure, he'd prefer sleeping than being with you. What's keeping him from going to sleep? Whatever it is it must be quite 'powerful'  to make him be want to stay with you and be somewhat nice to you instead of going to sleep in the quiet dark. 

Then the answer pops to your head.

They watched a thriller film earlier. He and Hoseok nearly pooped their pants at probably every scene. 

He's scared.

Park Jimin is scared of sleeping in the dark after watching a thriller. 

"You're scared aren't you?" you chuckle. 

Jimin's eyes go wide, he's been compromised, "Wh-what? Why would I be scared?" he tries to cover his own ass up, but it's already too late. 

"Jimin, your scream literally woke me up. And you complained about watching a thriller because you don't like these kind of movies" you tell him and purse your lips as you give him the 'are you serious'  look. 

He looks anywhere but you.  He's trying to think of a cheeky way to avoid himself getting cornered but the scary as hell moments from the movie flash across his mind and he can't concentrate. Aside of that, his tough wall cracks for a moment and he's quite worried of your reaction, are you going to make fun of him? You've already caught him in some embarrassing moments and you can tease the life out of him because of those. 

For a moment you even think of starting to laugh on purpose for payback but then you see him looking very uncomfortable and you decide against it,  not wanting to make him feel any worse than he is. 

And who knows, may be if you're kind to him he'll see that you're not as bad as he thinks and hopefully will warm up to you. 

​​​​​​One more friend couldn't harm, right? 

"I won't make fun of you, I know better than that," you reassure him but still show that you're not fond of his behavior, "Feel free to stay here as long as you don't try to get on my nerves" 

"Sure" be mumbles and he scoots his chair closer to you. 

​​​​​​For an odd reason he's feeling relieved that you did not make fun of him or kick him out and even the fact that he won't have to come up with a stupid excuse to stay here with you and not go to that dark living room where Eun-bi is lightly snoring.
